RAVEN VS. DUSTIN RHODES

 Raven beat Dustin Rhodes at the previous month’s Against All Odds PPV, so Dustin brought his father’s bullrope for the rematch. Raven makes his way out as Tenay says Raven’s beatdown on Dustin went too far, Raven isn’t scared of the rematch. Dustin Rhodes makes his way out and his music sounds similar to Raven’s, you can barely hear the country beat with it. He’s carrying the bullrope as Tenay says the bullrope is famous thanks to Dusty Rhodes.

RAVEN VS. DUSTIN RHODES

TNA Desination X 2005 (13^th March 2005)

  Raven refuses the bullrope and climbs out to the floor to stall for a while.

The referee finally puts it around Raven's wrist, Dustin Rhodes slides to the floor and pulls Raven into the Ultimate X structure. Dustin Rhodes climbs through the ring to Raven but misses a shot with the cow bell. Raven gets some right hands in but climbs to the apron, Dustin pulls the rope sending Raven into the guard rail. Dustin brings it back to the ring and sends Raven into the ropes, Dustin hits Raven in the midsection and the spine with the cow bell. Dustin Rhodes leaves the ring and pulls Raven into the turnbuckles. He gets back in the ring, wrapping the rope around the corner post and taunts Raven, sending him into the corner so TNA can show off the cameras they have on the top turnbuckles. Dustin brings the rope back to full slack and chokes Raven with it, climbing on the corner for leverage. Dusti pulls Raven into right hands but is sent down to the mat when Raven tugs on the rope. Raven brings a chair from under the ring and wedges it between the ropes. Dustin Rhodes is sent into the chair and it falls to the floor, so Raven brings it back.

  Raven attacks Dustin’s ankle with the cow bell as Rhodes tries to fight from underneath. Raven sends the top of the chair into the back of Dustin’s neck and stands the chair up. Dustin’s head is draped across the seat as Raven hits an elbow drop. Raven climbs to the middle rope but Dustin is able to move out of the way of the second elbow drop. The bullrope finds itself chafing Raven as they get to their feet. “think of the rope burn right there!” – the always great Don West. Dustin Rhodes whiffs the uppercut from the floor but connects with the inverted atomic drop and a running clothesline. Dustin Rhodes hits the punches in the corner, getting to 9 before finishing off with a bionic elbow. He places the cow bell against Raven’s head and sets up the Bulldog but Raven sends him across the ring. Raven picks up the chair and lays in wait, Dustin Rhodes pulls on the bullrope and Raven places the chair between them as Dustin Rhodes throws a punch.

 Raven stands the chair up and sends Rhodes into the ropes, Dustin Rhodes hits a bulldog onto the top of the chair! He covers 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: DUSTIN RHODES

The finish was sudden and they didn’t have much time to tell a story but the match was OK before that. I just wish there was more substance to it so I could actually say something besides they did some bullrope spots and went home, but there wasn’t so I can’t. [*] 1.5/10

Team Canada storm the ring and attack Dustin Rhodes, America’s Most Wanted join the brawl to even out the numbers and clear the ring of Canadians.
