Jerry “The King” Lawler, Matt Striker, and Michael Cole are on commentary for this match. Melina beat Alicia Fox on Raw a couple of weeks previously. Melina enters dressed as a Sunflower or something, which I feel could be the highlight of this match. We have a few minutes to wait whilst she gets the entrance attire off.

(WWE Divas Championship)
WWE Summerslam 2010 (15th August 2010)
Before they lock up Michael Cole calls Melina an “all-time great” and I throw up in my mouth. Fox is backed into the ropes from the collar-elbow tie up and Melina is forced to break. They lock up again, this time Alicia puts on a headlock and takes Melina down with a hip throw, Melina fights to her feet and backs Fox into the ropes, forcing a break. Alicia Fox shoves Melina but is backed into the ropes with forearms, Fox reverses the irish whip, but Melina with a nice trip on the ankle from the baseball slide (still not quite “all-time great” level) Melina lifts Alicia Fox by her hair and curb stomps her into the mat. Alicia Fox is laid across the middle rope in the corner and Melina gets a knee drop, Fox complains that she can still taste the canvas and I think she tried to play possum but ran into a flapjack anyway, Melina covers for a nearfall. Melina connects with forearms, Alicia Fox reverses an irish whip sending her into the corner but Melina floats over, landing badly on the previously injured knee.
Alicia Fox runs at Melina with a clothesline and an attempt is made at ducking it, Melina knocks Fox down and she take a breather on the apron. Melina joins her but is sent into the ring post, Alicia connects with a roundhouse from the floor and gets back in the ring. Alicia Fox brings Melina to her feet and hits her with an elbow to the back of the head. Melina’s arm is held out for a knee drop as Alicia picks her target. Melina fights to her feet with forearms but is cut off with a knee to the midsection and sent into the corner, Melina kicks Fox in the midsection I think, but the camera doesn’t quite catch it, Melina rolls the champion up but Alicia Fox kicks out. Melina fires with more forearms but is pushed into the ropes, Melina hits a dropkick and screams, reminding me why I try to avoid her matches, Alicia Fox is leaning against the middle ropes as Melina charges at her with a double knee attack and hits some snapmare into a facebuster for the win.
WINNER: MELINA (STILL WWE Divas Champion
Well, I got through it. The match was better than I expected
going in, but the bar was incredibly low. There were a couple of nice moves in
a sea of nothingness that is a Divas match. [*] 1.75/10.
After the match Josh Matthews gets in the ring for a promo, Melina had to vacate the Diva's title a year ago and she won it back here. He's interrupted by Lay-Cool. They cut a "Mean Girls" promo on their way to the ring and Michelle McCool tries to get a picture with the new champion. The fight is on and Melina is able to hold them off for a while, until McCool catches her off-guard. Layla attacks with ax handles to Melina's back and Lay-Cool starts to double-team. Alicia Fox gets a shot in but is dumped from the ring by McCool, Layla sends Melina out and she hits the announce table. Michelle McCool takes a shot to Melina's ribs, and this took longer than it needed to.
