Santino Marella makes his way out and I completely forgot he
won the United States title. Santino said he was a better ring announcer than
Ricardo Rodriguez a few weeks ago, kicking off this feud and leading to a mixed
tag team match, Rodriguez teamed with Beth Phoenix to face Marella and Layla.
Lawler with a pretty funny line “you have to admit, Rodriguez got in the way
pretty well!” after the mixed tag match Rodriguez was exposed as a Belieber after
over celebrating. Marella enjoys watching that back on the big screen before
Rodriguez makes his way out. Jerry “The King” Lawler, Michael Cole and Booker T
are on commentary for this match.
RICARDO RODRIGUEZ
VS. SANTINO MARELLA
WWE No Way Out 2012 (17th June 2012)
The bell rings, but Santino wants to
showcase their tuxedoes first. Predictably Santino wins the popularity contest.
Michael Cole sarcastically puts over the past “classic” Tuxedo matches, an
alarming amount of which involve The Fink.
. Ricardo Rodriguez starts a shoving match with Santino then
draws first blood, ripping the pocket of what is either Santino’s “only tuxedo”
or “rental tuxedo” Santino Marella responds in kind, then blocks Rodriguez’s
attempt and rips a sleeve off! (I’m sorry, I’m trying to do this like a match
but it’s difficult. Ricardo Rodriguez rips the back seam of Santino’s tuxedo
and Santino Marella slaps him in the face! That should be enough for a Holy Shit chant
in this match.
Santino Marella sends Ricardo’s head into the top turnbuckle, and runs him around the ring. Ricardo Rodriguez is able to send Santino into the corner. Ricardo charges but gets sidestepped and meets the turnbuckles again. Santino removes his shirt, bringing us a step closer to this being over. Cole is gushing over a match between Lilllian Garcia and Howard Finkel on Smackdown in 2002. Cole notes that Ricardo Rodriguez still hasn’t lost his bow tie as he is able to get a jawbreaker, but Santino ducks the charge with the splits and hip tosses Rodriguez. He sets up for The Cobra but Rodriguez rakes at his eyes and throws the sock out of the ring. He trips Marella and removes his shoes and trousers, off come Santino’s socks but he has a Cobra sock on his foot! Santino Marella kips up and kicks Ricardo Rodriguez, knocking him down and removes the trousers to end the match.
WINNER: SANTINO MARELLA
Rodriguez looks like hes about to cry before he swings at Santino,
wbo ducks and hits an atomic drop, Ricardo Rodriguez makes another attempt at
offense, but Santino hits an inverted atomic drop, each time ripping more of
Rodriguez’s tuxedo. Santino has the jacket removed and plays Matador, which
sends Rodriguez out of the ring. He is quick to get back in the ring but
Marella takes him down with a drop toe hold and removes one of Ricardo’s shoes.
Which worked so well he repeats it with the other one. Santino Marella sends
Ricardo’s head into the top turnbuckle, and runs him around the ring. Ricardo
Rodriguez is able to send Santino into the corner. Ricardo charges but gets
sidestepped and meets the turnbuckles again. Santino removes his shirt,
bringing us a step closer to this being over. Cole is gushing over a match

WINNER: SANTINO MARELLA
After the match,
commentary mock Ricardo’s Alberto Del Rio tighty whiteys as he heads backstage.
