TYSON TOMKO VS, CHRIS JERICHO

Good Ol' JR and Jerry "The King" Lawler are on commentary for this match. Chris Jericho enters first, with the entrance video I could never get used to, I didn’t realize he used it this long. We go back to 3 weeks previous, Tyson Tomko powerbombed Y2J through the announce table as Jim Ross calls him “Benoit” whilst talking about the possibly hurt ribs of Jericho. Trish Stratus is accompanying Tomko to the ring, which of course gets King excited on commentary.

Chris Jericho ducks under an attempt to lock up by Tyson Tomko, who takes control of Jericho’s arm and sends him into the corner, hitting him with right hands and back elbows. Chris Jericho is sent across the ring, he avoids a clothesline with a baseball slide and chops at Tomko, who tries to reply but Jericho ducks it. Tomko reverses an irish whip and barely ducks before Jericho kicks him, Tyson Tomko decapitates Jericho with a clothesline then drags him to his feet, and places him in the corner for the deadly BLATANT CHOKE! Chris Jericho is sent across the ring into the turnbuckles but gets his boot up, dazing Tomko, Jericho hits a missile dropkick from the middle rope, Tomko rolls to the apron and Jericho hits the triangle dropkick, sending him to the floor. Trish gets mad at Tomko for eating Jericho’s boot so often in the match as Jericho jumps at Tomko from the apron. It looks like Tyson Tomko was meant to catch him in mid-air but it didn’t turn out that way. Tyson Tomko lifts Jericho onto his shoulder but Jericho slips out the back and shoves Tomko into the ring post before helping him back in the ring.

Jericho climbs to the top rope, but Trish Stratus climbs on the apron, causing the distraction and allowing Tomko to lift Jericho from the turnbuckles and carry him overhead, dropping him into a rib breaker. Tyson Tomko kicks at the midsection. Trish looks on as Tomko brings Jericho to his feet and drives him into the corner. Tyson Tomko with shoulder thrusts to the injured ribs before slamming Jericho out of the corner. Tomko stomps Jericho but he gets to his feet and softens Tomko up with chops and kicks to the midsection, Chris Jericho hits the ropes but runs into a swinging side slam for a nearfall. Tyson Tomko drives his knee into Jericho’s midsection and puts on a bearhug as the fans chant for Jericho, who eventually tries to fight out until Tomko slams him to the mat. Tomko hits the ropes but Jericho rolls out of the way of the fist drop and gets to his feet in the corner, Tomko charges but hits the turnbuckles. Jericho hits a right hand and a chop to Tomko but is cut off with a knee to the gut, Jericho is sent off the ropes but he uses the momentum to knock Tomko down with a forearm shot.

Chris Jericho eats shit on a Lionsault attempt as Tomko rolls out of the way, he lifts Jericho onto his shoulder like a Razor’s Edge and drops Jericho’s shoulder across his knee, Tomko covers but Jericho kicks out at 2. Tyson Tomko lifts Jericho in a military press, but Jericho rakes the eyes, he takes Tyson Tomko down with a chop block and tries to lock in the Walls of Jericho, but Tomko is able to kick him back into the corner, Y2J avoids a running knee, another chop block to Tomko and Jericho goes back to the Walls, Trish jumps on the apron as Jericho is trying to turn Tomko over, and Tyson Tomko powers out again. Chris Jericho is in front of Trish as he gets to his feet, Tyson Tomko charges and is sent into Trish, Chris Jericho hits the enziguri and covers Tomko to win the match.

WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO

This match was a good match, considering how new Tyson Tomko was and his limitations in the ring, Chris Jericho lead him through a passable Pay-Per-View match. Jericho let the environment help him beat Tomko, Tyson Tomko was able to get some work in on the midsection towards the middle of the match and Trish didn’t get involved enough for it to become tiresome, probably saving her for the match later tonight ** match and personally 4.5/10.
