Right to Censor hold a prayer backstage and it sounds like Steven Richards says “I love men” Jim Ross has a chance to tell us the next match is for The Kat's right to nudity before an advertisement for WWFShop.com airs. Mick Foley hosts an advertisement for the Ultimate Fanatic online competition to win a weekend in New York and visit “The World with Foley. We're in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight, however, and JR is still trying to get over the 3 Stages of Hell match we just saw between Triple H and Steve Austin. Tazz joins Jim Ross on commentary, replacing King before Steven Richards enters for the match, with Ivory. I know it was the whole point but their entrance is so grating to me. Jerry Lawler enters next and I've never appreciated his music so much. His animal print attire, not so much. The Kat accompanies him, deciding on a Little Black Trenchcoat. Earlier in the night on Heat Right to Censor interrupted the Las Vegas Outlaws cheerleaders. They were a team in the original run of the XFL at this time, if you don't know, look it up for an interesting read. I chuckled when Val Venis said “listen to us” and they cut back to live as King gets in the ring. A sign in the crowd reads “Right to nudity – even Florida agrees!” which I'm sure won't anger anyone from Florida.
STEVEN RICHARDS VS. JERRY LAWLER
No Way Out 2001 (25th February 2001)
The bell rings and they circle, Richards shouts in Lawler's face, he throws the first punch but King blocks, Jerry Lawler knocks Richards down and starts raining down rights I feel like Teddy Long gets to 5 and should have disqualified Lawler but the match goes on and Richards rolls out of the ring. After a pep talk from Ivory at ringside he slides in the ring, almost getting caught in the cloth over the side. Steven Richards backs Lawler into the corner and gets some right hands. Jerry Lawler blocks a hip toss and knocks Richards down. Lawler hits a scoop slam and a fist drop, Richards bails back to ringside. Richards back in again as the crowd chants for Lawler, Richards gets in a shot before Lawler counters a waistlock and dumps Richards through the ropes. Lawler follows this time, Ivory tries to get in his face but backs into The Kat, Lawler holds Ivory whilst The Kat slaps her but is blindsided by Richards, who sends King into the post and takes it back in the ring, covering for a nearfall.
Steven Richards tries Goodfather's “Ho Train” or whatever he called it during this time but Lawler moves out of the way, making the long explanation futile. Jerry Lawler hits a combination of right hands as the crowd counts them, 20 in total. Again Teddy Long counts 5 but doesn't disqualify Lawler. The Kat cheers on her cheating husband (everyone needs a wife like The Kat!) as he hits a bulldog on Steven Richards for a nearfall.Steven Richards sends Lawler into the corner and fights back with right hands, he follows with a back elbow and kicks to the midsection as the crowd begins to chant for puppies. Steven Richards hits a suplex for a nearfall, he brings a chair in the ring as Ivory distracts Long from the apron, Jerry Lawler hits a low blow and two consecutive DDTs. He covers but Ivory has Long's attention again, The Kat gets into the ring, drawing Teddy Long away but giving Ivory a chance to throw the WWF Women's Championship to Richards. Lawler ducks a belt shot and knocks Steven Richards down with a right hand, Jerry Lawler scoop slams Ivory! Jerry Lawler ducks another belt shot and knocks Richards down after a struggle. Teddy Long and Jerry Lawler struggle with each other to get Ivory out of the ring but neither of them does it, Jerry Lawler signals doing something to Ivory but Steven Richards grabs him from behind. The Kat is back in the ring, she has the title belt and charges at Steven Richards as he turns around with Lawler, The Kat hits Lawler with the belt! Steven Richards covers and Teddy Long runs over to count the three.
WINNER: STEVEN RICHARDS
Unintentionally this could have lead to an interesting heel turn for Teddy Long if they wanted to and included it at the end of Wrestlemania 17 and the Two Man Power Trip. I'm not saying it would have saved the ending to the greatest era in my life time but it could have been an interesting layer. The match itself was just as you would expect, there wasn't anything terrible but Jerry Lawler had been wrestling since 1970 and Steven Richards knows how to get through a match..– As a match, it's **½ but personally, I'd rate it 3/10
Goodfather, Bull Buchannan and Val Venis runs out to cover The Kat as JR explains she must join Right to Censor. Val Venis carries The Kat backstage.
