John "Bradshaw" Layfield, Michael Cole & Byron Saxton are on commentary for this match. Edge and Christian host an episode of the Cutting Edge Peep Show and are interrupted by WWE World Tag champions The New Day. They run down The Ascension, The Usos and The Dudleys before moving on to the League of Nations. Naturally this brings the faction out. and JBL says "Be careful what you wish for. Sheamus has a microphone as they make their way to the ring. Alberto del Rio is in the ring first and hits Woods' unicorn horn before New Day leaves Edge and Christian alone with the League of Nations. King Barrett threatens them. Edge and Christian leave the ring in a promo equivalent of looking strong in defeat. They even give the League of Nations the 5 Second Pose. Michael Cole finally plugs The Edge & Christian Show that totally reeks of Awesomeness. as E&C leaves with New Day.
The Social Outcasts make an unscheduled appearance, Heath Slator says they will make this show viral. Axel says they're directing the Road to Wrestlemania. Bo Dallas goes over safety tips for cars before Adam Rose compares them to Prius' leading to arguments about the types of cars they want to be. R-Truth saves us from this singing his way to the ring. There's a prematch flub before R-Truth counts the members of the Social Outcasts.
CURTIS AXEL VS. R-TRUTH
WWE Fastlane 2016 (21st February 2016)
They lock up and R-Truth gets a headlock, he transitions into a hammerlock and Curtis Axel gets out of it with a back elbow and gets his own headlock but R-Truth sends him off the ropes. R-Truth drops down then leapfrogs into the splits. He stops Curtis Axel from charging, dances then Curtis Axel runs into a hip toss. R-Truth hits a right hand in the corner then climbs to the second rope, he gets in some mounted rights before Heath Slater distracts him by shouting loud. Slater ducks a shot but it connects with Rose. R-Truth knocks down Slater too then goes back to the corner, Bo Dallas grabs R-Truth's ankle and trips him. R- Truth drops to the mat at Bo Dallas leads a victory lap and we ignore the ring. Goldust runs down to ringside and trips Curtis Axel. The Social Outcasts get on the apron and R-Truth makes short work of them. Goldust sends Heath Slater into the barrier and throws Adam Rose into the ring, R- Truth jumps over Rose but is rolled up by Curtis Axel for the win!
WINNER: CURTIS AXEL
This was just a last-minute time filler and it showed. It was overbooked for the under 3-minute time. There didn't need to be that much chaos for CURT HENNIG'S SON to beat R-Truth. No disrespect to R-Truth, just a testament to how Axel was booked. Before the overbooked finish and despite the run time though, this wasn't a bad match.– As a match, it's * but personally, I'd rate it 2.25/10
Curtis Axel leaves with the rest of the Social Outcasts as R-Truth looks on, we see a replay of the finish before Goldust gets in the ring to apologize for costing R-Truth the match and R-Truth leaves.
