KURT ANGLE VS. TAZZ

WWF Royal Rumble 2000 (23rd January 2000)

Tazz gets started right away with right hands, Kurt Angle reverses an irish whip but Tazz holds on to the ropes, Angle charges and is sent over to the floor. Tazz follows and tries to suplex Angle on the entranceway, but Angle lands on his feet. Kurt Angle hits the suplex and takes it back into the ring. He sends Tazz off the ropes and knocks him down with a forearm, covering him but Tazz kicks out before 2. Angle sends Tazz's head into the turnbuckle, hits a couple of right hands, and chokes him with his boot. Kurt Angle hits a belly to belly suplex on Tazz and heads to the top rope. King mentions Tazz's likability for suplexes as Tazz knocks the ropes, crotching Angle on the corner. He hits a belly to belly superplex on Angle and the crowd explodes, Tazz catches Angle before he can roll out of the ring and covers, but Angle gets his foot on the bottom rope at the last second. The referee stops Tazz from celebrating, Angle cuts him off with a kick to the gut and gets a nearfall with an inside cradle. Angle knocks Tazz down with a clothesline, he hits a german suplex and bridges but Tazz kicks out at 2. Tazz lands on his feet from the Angle Slam attempt, there's a fuck up on the first german suplex, but Angle goes over on the second and lands on his face, Tazz hits the arm-capture Tazzplex and calls for one more, hitting a T-Bone suplex on Kurt Angle, he locks the Tazzmission on Kurt Angle, who passes out.

WINNER: KURT ANGLE

Taking the german suplex miscommunication out of the match, this was a perfect debut for Tazz. The crowd was into everything he did, any time Angle landed a move you would think he killed a puppy, when Tazz had the upper-hand the crowd blew the roof off the building. One of the more under-rated WWF debuts in my opinion.– As a match it's ** but personally, I'd rate it 4.75/10

After the match, Kurt Angle does the stretcher job and Tazz went on to have a Hall of Fame career off the back of the victory......Haha! Yeah, right. To be serious for a moment (Lance Storm) Michael Cole is backstage with The Hardy Boyz and Terri before their tables match with the Dudley Boyz.
