On the 28th December episode of Raw, Sable made an open challenge for the WWF Women's Championship, a “fan” Tori, came out to hand her a rose before it was answered by “The Spider Lady” who then revealed herself as Luna Vachon, she started attacking Sable with a leather strap, causing the disqualification and leading to this match.
Before the match, Shane McMahon comes out to the ring, Firstly, what the fuck is that music they dubbed over his theme. He introduces Luna, who ambushed Sable earlier tonight on Heat. We see the video of that as Shane asks for a public forfeit of the championship from Sable. Sable walks out, favoring her back. Instead of forfeiting the title, she tells the timekeeper to ring the bell, starting the match. Shane joins Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler on commentary.

(Strap match) WWF Women's Championship
WWF Royal Rumble 1999 (19th January 1999)
The intensity dies down as they connect the strap to their wrist, Sable pushes Luna into the corner and starts whipping her, Luna bails to the floor, but she can only go so far away. Sable pulls at the strap, sending Luna into the ring post. Luna Vachon gets onto the apron, hitting Sable with a shoulder barge through the ropes. Sable kicks Luna in the gut and starts whipping her again, Luna is sent off the ropes and knocked down with a clothesline. Sable chokes Luna with the strap and sends Luna across the ring, then begins touching corners, Luna uses her strength to cut Sable off, pulling her into a shot with the strap. Luna chokes Sable in a camel clutch using the strap, then targets the back with strikes. She stands on Sable's back as she chokes her and kicks Sable in the ribs.
Michael Cole asks Shane whether it's about Luna Vachon or Sable, who embarrassed Shane. Luna touches 2 corners but Sable cuts her off, Sable whips Luna with the strap and begins kicking her in the corner, Luna Vachon is sent across the ring, but Sable runs into the turnbuckles. Luna hits a backbreaker out of the corner and ties the strap around Sable's neck. Sable is brought to her feet, Luna lifts Sable over her back and begins touching the corners. Sable hits the first one as Luna turns, they each hit the second and third corners. Sable is able to bring Luna to the middle of the ring and counters, having Luna on her back. Luna counters it back, but Sable flips over her back as Shane leaves commentary, jumping on the apron. Tori the fan jumps the security wall and cuts Luna off, hitting her with a right hand. Sable makes it to the fourth corner and wins the match.
WINNER: SABLE (STILL WWF Women's Champion)
This was a standard strap match and a standard small and injured face overcomes the odds. Luna was protected at the end with Shane's distraction and getting hit by Tori, but I just didn't care about the match.. At least Sable didn't fuck anything up and no one got hurt .– As a match it's ½* but personally I'd rate it 1/10
