We begin with Triple H in the ring, 6 days after his beatdown at the hands of Roman Reigns at TLC 2016. Somewhere, Jim Cornette is trying to hold off a nervous twitch. We get the video package to rundown the card before Asuka makes her entrance. Corey Graves, Byron Saxton and Rich Brennan are on commentary for this match. Emma enters along with Dana Brooke, who Asuka beat in her debut at NXT TakeOver: Respect. The previous week Asuka became the first wrestler ever to not lose to the entrance music distraction. The fans chant “Asuka's gonna kill you” before the bell.
EMMA VS. ASUKA
NXT TAKEOVER LONDON - 16th December 2015
Emma ducks under an attempt at a lock-up and avoids a kick, and leans out to the apron, in no rush to start the match. Asuka gets a waistlock but Emma reverses it, Asuka counters into an arm wringer, and they trade those for a while. Asuka sends Emma off the ropes but eats shit on the dropkick, Emma quickly covers but Asuka is just as quick to kick out. Asuka gets to her feet in a hammerlock and reverses into one of her own. Emma tries to roll through but Asuka is there with her, they start switching, and Emma loses grip from the fast pace, She elbows her way out of another hammerlock. She runs the ropes but Asuka follows, Asuka catches a clothesline and brings Emma down in an armbar but Emma makes it to the ropes. Asuka kicks at Emma, who bails to the floor, Asuka hits a running hip attack from the apron. Asuka throws Emma back into the ring and turns her attention to Dana Brooke, but Emma hits a baseball slide dropkick as Asuka's on the apron.
Emma drapes Asuka over the apron and clubs at her back until Asuka rolls out of reach and gets to her feet in the corner. Emma starts stomping at Asuka, then chokes her in the corner with a boot. Emma hits a running dropkick and covers but only gets 2. Emma starts working Asuka's arms on the mat, pulling her arms up and pulling on the shoulders, Asuka tries to kick her way free but is caught in a roll-up. She kicks out at one. She brings Asuka back to her feet by the hair, hitting her with an elbow to the top of the head. She uses Asuka's hair to bend her spine around the top rope, breaking the hold before she's disqualified. A hairmare and kick to the back from Emma get her a nearfall. Emma hits Asuka across the back of the head, but it seems to be firing her up. Emma keeps her on the mat with a full nelson as the crowd is behind Asuka. She makes it to her feet and uses the hip attacks to break free, Emma hits her across the back of the head but Asuka gets a combination of back elbows, Emma sends Asuka into the ropes but ends up in a backslide for 2, she kicks out but Asuka holds on and, they get to their feet, Emma knocks Asuka down with a short-arm clothesline and covers but only gets 2.
The fans chant “this is wrestling” so it's good to know where they are. Asuka is sent into the turnbuckles, but she gets to her feet. Emma sends her from corner to corner again, Dana shouts at Asuka from ringside but again she's not feeling it. Asuka tries to reverse an irish whip but is knocked down by a slap from Emma. Emma tries to send Asuka into the corner, but Asuka lands on the middle rope, hitting a missile dropkick. Asuka can't capitalize and the referee starts counting them both down. Emma starts to stir at 4, and they both get to their knees by 7, Asuka scores first blood with a forearm, breaking the referee's count. Emma hits back, she gets a series of clubbing blows on Asuka but makes the mistake of running the ropes, straight into a dropkick. That begins a crazy combination of strikes from Asuka that play-by-play doesn't do justice. Emma reverses an irish whip but Asuka knocks her down with a hip attack. Asuka connects with roundhouse kicks as Emma is on her knees, as the fans chant “Yes!” for Daniel Bryan but Emma catches the final attempt. Asuka ducks a haymaker but misses with a spinning back fist. Emma trips her and gets a jackknife cover, but Asuka kicks out at 2.
Asuka hits a spinning back fist, then another. She hits Emma with a forehand fist I guess, knocking her down to one knee. Asuka with the third hip attack of the match, she covers but only gets a nearfall. Asuka tries to bring Emma to her feet, but Emma breaks the grip and bails to the corner, Asuka charges and hits the turnbuckles, getting wound up in a tarantula hold. Emma holds on for 4, but breaks just in time, and sends Asuka into the turnbuckles with a butterfly suplex. Emma hits the running crossbody in the corner and gets a nearfall.I kind of wish they used the ropes there, I think that move looks amazing. Emma covers again and Asuka kicks out before 3 for the second time. Emma tries to put Asuka in a bow and arrow lock, but Asuka reverses into an ankle lock! Emma gets to her feet and Asuka breaks the hold, german suplex! Asuka with a running kick, it sounded like she went through Emma's jaw, 1, 2, no! Asuka brings Emma to her feet, and struggles to put Emma in a submission, Emma backs Asuka into the referee in the corner.
Emma moves to another corner, and it looks like she's supposed to roll under Asuka's kick, but it connects. Dana Brooke throws a belt into the ring for Emma but Asuka wrestles it away from her just in time for the referee to see her with it. She argues with the referee as the fans chant “no” leaving Emma to take advantage, rolling Asuka up. Asuka kicks out and puts on the Asuka lock! Emma tries to make it to the ropes, Dana Brooke gets in the ring to distract the referee as we see Emma start to tap out. Asuka breaks the hold as the referee throws Dana Brooke out of the match, Emma has hold of the belt again, she tries to hit Asuka, but she ducks. Spinning heel kick from Asuka, she covers 1, 2, 3.
WINNER: ASUKA
We see UK wrestling Johnny Saint in tonight's crowd after the replays.
