Leading into this match, these guys had swapped partners due to an injury. Chris Harris and Elix Skipper won the NWA World tag team championships from The Naturals, they were then defeated by James Storm and Christopher Daniels. They then lost the championships and the feud between the conventional teams continued. James Storm went into this match with an injured leg thanks to a chairshot by Daniels. Triple X make their way to the ring first as Mike Tenay, joined by Don West on commentary puts over both teams in TNA's young history. Ameria's Most Wanted enter, with James Storm's knee bandaged up from the attack.
AMERICA'S MOST WANTED VS. TRIPLE X (Last Team Standing)
TNA Victory Road 2004 (7th November 2004)
The bell rings and Triple X rush America's Most Wanted. Daniels and Storm pay off and go to the outside, we see Chris Harris send Elix Skipper's head into the apron. James Storm is able to bring Daniels back into the ring as Storm is sent into the guardrail. Christopher Daniels is sent back out to the floor but Skipper attacks Storm from behind. He's caught in a backbreaker across the knee and an inverted suplex. AMW hit Skipper with the Hart attack in the ring, Daniels breaks up the cover (so is it Texas Deathmatch rules?) and he counters an inverted suplex from Storm. James Storm hits a Superkick with the injured leg! He lifts Daniels for the Death Sentence but Elix Skipper pushes them out of the way, taking the legdrop. Chris Harris slams Daniels to the mat and covers him for 3. Christopher Daniels is up at 7 as he's left in the ring with Storm. So now tags are included too. James Storm hits a kneel-out powerbomb and tags in Harris with no selling whatsoever.
Chris Harris knocks down Daniels with a clothesline and sends him into the corner, but he runs into Daniels' boot. Christopher Daniels hits a sidewalk slam and tags Skipper in. Skipper snapmares Harris over and kicks him across the back before tagging back out. Triple X slam Harris, then Elix Skipper slams Daniels on him. Daniels brings James Storm in and the referee gets him out of the ring for reasons. Daniels pulls back on Harris' neck and tags in Skipper. Triple X hit the Powerplex but Harris kicks out at 2. Daniels gets the tag again, Harris starts fighting back but it's cut off with jabs by Daniels. Chris Harris ducks a clothesline and hits a jumping version before tagging Storm back in. James Storm attacks Skipper on the apron then knocks Daniels down. Storm sends Skipper over his shoulder, Daniels sends Storm into the ropes but Storm catches him with a headscissors. He hits a powerslam on Skipper for a nearfall.
James Storm sets Skipper up for the Superkick but Daniels hits a dropkick to his bandaged knee. He tries to hit Storm with a suplex but James Storm lands on his feet, Daniels turns it back around and suplexes Storm into a powerbomb from Elix Skipper. Christopher Daniels covers for the three count, James Storm barely gets to his feet at 9, even with the referee in his way. Elix Skipper distracts the referee as Christopher Daniels attacks the injured knee with a steel chair. He covers James Storm for 3. James Storm jumps for the ropes, using them to make it to his feet but the time expires and he's eliminated. Chris Harris knocks Skipper down, Christopher Daniels sends him across the ring, but ducks early. Chris Harris kicks him but Daniels ducks the clothesline, hitting the uranage to set up for the Best Moonsault Ever. Chris Harris rolls out of the way and hits a spear, well that's what it should be. He covers and Daniels gets his shoulder up at 2 as Skipper climbs to the top rope. He slips but still connects with Harris, then goes back up. Chris Harris knocks Skipper to the floor and hits a leg drop from the top rope. He covers Christopher Daniels, who stays down for the 10 count.
Chris Harris and Elix Skipper are left to represent their team. Harris goes out to the floor, then makes his way back in but doesn't bring Skipper with him. Skipper follows and is met with some shots, softening him up. Harris tries to send him across the ring, Skipper wants the Play of the Day but Harris counters, they sloppily get into a powerbomb and Harris gets a nearfall. Don West then does one of the worst things on commentary, putting Skipper over for kicking out of a move that didn't connect properly instead of covering properly. Chris Harris lifts Skipper for a suplex but his back goes out. Elix Skipper hits Play of the Day but he's slow to capitalize, sliding out to the floor and grabbing a chair. Chris Harris kicks him in the gut before Skipper has a chance to use it. He hits a Catatonic on the chair and covers. He gets 3 but Skipper kicks out close. The referee counts Elix Skipper down, he tries to get to his knees at 4 but can't beat the count, flopping back down.
WINNERS: TRIPLE X (ELIX SKIPPER SURVIVED)
There were some slight mis-steps in the match and the pinfalls before counting was supposed to add more suspense to the match but it made it drag slightly for me. It wasn't the match I expected from what I heard of these two teams and the referee distraction was confusing. Overall it was disappointing but I think that was the stipulation hindering them.– As a match it's **¾ but personally I'd rate it 4.5/10
