BATISTA (C) VS. UNDERTAKER

John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Michael Cole are on commentary for this match, the Cell is lowered before the opening video package. This is their 5th match this year and they have a win apiece, with 2 draws. Batista enters first, so Taker gets to slam the door. As Undertaker gets to the cell Cole says Batista is not scared of Undertaker, but the camera on Batista says differently.

They lock up and Batista gets a headlock, he's sent off the ropes but knocks Undertaker down with a shoulder tackle. He blocks a hip toss from Undertaker and clotheslines him down. Undertaker fights back with rights and sends Batista off the ropes again, Batista ducks the clothesline and knocks Taker into the ropes with rights. Undertaker is sent off the ropes and he ducks a clothesline, Chokeslam attempt by Undertaker is countered with some elbow shots. Batista runs into a clothesline and Undertaker gets a nearfall. Undertaker stomps Batista and hits a leg drop, then sends Batista's head into the turnbuckle. Undertaker uses strikes in the corner so Batista takes a walk, he gets sent from corner to corner. Undertaker hits Snake Eyes and the running big boot for a nearfall. Undertaker grabs a chair from under the ring but doesn't get a chance to use it before he's hit with a spear. Batista runs at Taker with the chair but it's kicked back into his face, Undertaker knocks Batista down with a clothesline and covers for 2.

Batista escapes a triangle choke attempt and slides out of the ring, but Undertaker follows, sending his head into the ring steps. Undertaker jabs at Batista, who uses the cell to stay on his feet as long as he can, then takes him over by the ring announcers and grinds his face into the mesh. Undertaker hits the apron leg drop then uses the chair as a guillotine, slamming it on the base of the steps as it's against Batista's throat and we get a shot that Batista's busted open from the forehead and bleeding in the mouth. Undertaker chokes Batista with his boot then jams the chair into his throat again, he takes it back into the ring for a pair of nearfalls, forcing his forearm on to Batista's throat. Undertaker rams his shoulder into Batista and climbs the ropes for Old School, but Batista catches him in a spinebuster and slowly covers for 2. They get to their feet and exchange rights, Undertaker is sent off the ropes and Batista runs through him with a clothesline for another 2 count.

Batista hits a running powerslam and covers, but only gets 2. Undertaker goes out for a breather but gets followed, Batista sends Undertaker's head into the ring steps and whips him into the cell. Undertaker stumbles back into a clothesline. Undertaker reverses an irish whip, sending Batista into the steps, but they're showing a replay of Taker's ping pong ball routine so we need a replay of Batista hitting the steps too. Undertaker lifts Batista on his shoulder and he runs Batista into the wall of the cell, Batista eats a chairshot to the head and Undertaker brings it back into the ring, covering for a nearfall. We see the chairshot from outside the cell and it's a better angle. Batista fights off another Old School attempt and hits a superplex. He tries to cover Taker but gets caught in the triangle choke! Batista is able to make it to the ropes which forces the break, in a Cell match, with no disqualifications, which is the only result if Undertaker never released..... Read that through a few times for it to sink in.

Even JBL and Cole call bullshit on that call as Batista gets his breath back at ringside. Undertaker sends himself through the ropes into Batista, there's like 3 feet of room out there. He goes for the ring steps but Batista blocks it with his boots and sends Taker into the ring post. Batista hits Undertaker with the steps, driving them into his head as he sits against the cell and busts him open too. Batista brings it back in the ring and hits mounted punches on Taker in the corner, then bites his forehead. Undertaker brings Batista out of the corner, he tries to lift him for the Last Ride, but it's just a powerbomb. Undertaker uses the last bit of energy to crawl over and pin Batista, 1, 2, no! Undertaker hits a chokeslam and still gets 2. He signals for the Tombstone but Batista slides out the back and hits a spinebuster for the closest nearfall so far. He hits another spinebuster and grabs a table from under the ring. He sets it up as Undertaker tries to fight back, Batista hits a weak-looking powerbomb and covers Undertaker, but Taker kicks out again.

Undertaker struggles to his feet as Batista brings the base of the ring steps into the ring, he sets up for the Batista Bomb but Taker counters with a backdrop onto the steps, Undertaker covers and Batista gets another rope break. Undertaker hits a Tombstone near the ropes and covers again, this time Batista actually gets his shoulder up. Undertaker hits a Tombstone on the steps and throws Batista down to the mat, he covers but the referee is pulled out of the ring! Edge has returned, he was disguised as a cameraman. He hits Undertaker with the camera, then grabs the steel chair from ringside, he hits Undertaker with the Con Chairto across the ring steps and drags Batista over to cover, the referee has to count and awards Batista the match.
