That's right, there's a lot of people I haven't used for this list yet and I'm already getting a Van Hammer match in! Jim Ross and Tony Schiovane are on commentary for this match. Michael Hayes was originally scheduled to be Van Hammer's opponent, but he's injured so Doug Sommers is substituting. He's already in the ring as Van Hammer enters and apparently, Hammer's fans are “Hammerheads”
VAN HAMMER VS. DOUG SOMMERS
WCW Halloween Havoc 1991 (27th October 1991)
They exchange headlocks to start, Doug Sommers sends Van Hammer off the ropes but a chop block by Sommers barely grazes him. Van Hammer knocks him down with a clothesline and sends Sommers off the ropes, catching him with a scoop slam. Doug Somers is knocked back into the corner, Van Hammer sends him across the ring. Doug Sommers stumbles out of the corner into a back body drop. Van Hammer follows with an elbow drop and a leg drop. Van Hammer hits the “Hammer Rocks” slingshot suplex for the win, almost killing Doug Sommers in the process. It really looked rough.
WINNER: VAN HAMMER
The whole match is difficult to watch. Van Hammer only had a minute to do anything and somehow ruined his career. Doug Sommers wasn't the person to carry Van Hammer through a match on this night..– As a match it's ½* but personally I'd rate it 0.5/10
