X- Pac comes out to the ring first. Co-holder of the tag team championships with Kane. Kevin Kelly and Michael Cole are on commentary. Big Bossman enters and the winner of this match takes on Bob Holly in the quarterfinals at the pay per view (I reviewed that match here).
BIG BOSSMAN VS. X-PAC (King of the Ring qualifier)
WWF Heat (30th May 1999)
X-Pac crotch chops to start, he ducks a right hand and peppers Bossman with some of his own. Big Bossman reverses an irish whip sending X-Pac into the corner, X-Pac moves out of the way but is crotched on the middle turnbuckle. Big Bossman brings X-Pac out of the corner by his hair, word has it Bossman said Fabulous Moolah was a big inspiration for his career. The fans tell Bossman he sucks giving X-Pac motivation to come back with some rights, he hits the ropes then runs into Bossman's boot. Big Bossman takes his time, cranking at X-Pac's neck. X-Pac works to his feet and elbows free, he ducks a clothesline but his running cross body is caught. Big Bossman hits a rib breaker and refuses to cover. He strikes at X-Pac but X-Pac starts blocking and firing back, he ducks under a shot by Bossman and hits a spinning heel kick. X-Pac gets sent into the corner but gets a boot up to Big Bossman. X-Pac walks into a Samoan drop and pauses, he lays across X-Pac for a cover, but it's reversed into a crucifix and X-Pac qualifies!
WINNER: X-PAC
This happened. Big Bossman dominated most of the match (although that's not saying much) and the heel's cockiness cost him the match. It's a simple story to tell and they did it well enough in the time given. The fans loved X-Pac and hated Bossman so it worked.– As a match it's * but personally I'd rate it 0.5/10
After the match, Big Bossman is pissed and takes it out on X-Pac, Road Dogg runs down to try and make the save but The Acolytes run down. Big Bossman keeps Road Dogg in the corner whilst the Acolytes double team X-Pac and THE LIGHTS GO OUT! Kane appears to even the odds and Bossman gets out of there. Bradshaw goes to meet Kane but is knocked down with a right hand. Farooq is able to ignore the music long enough to take a chokeslam. Road Dogg challenges Big Bossman to a match tomorrow night on Raw.
