SGT. CRAIG PITTMAN VS. JIM DUGGAN

WCW Great American Bash (18th June 1995)

We start with jaw-jacking at the bell and a shoving match. The referee gets between them for reasons. They milk the crowd before locking up to a stalemate, Duggan calls for a USA chant and the crowd happily obliges. Another collar-elbow tie-up, Pittman gets behind but takes an elbow to the mush. Duggan works out of the waist lock and Pittman decides he didn't warm up enough yet. They lock up and Pitman is hip tossed into the corner. They lock up and trade arm wringers, Pittman jabs Duggan and starts choking him across the middle rope. Craig Pittman charges at Duggan but sends himself over the top rope, clearing the stairs. Since Duggan didn't send him over it isn't a disqualification. Pittman cuts off Duggan as he gets back to the ring and pulls off Hacksaw's knee brace.

Craig Pittman swings Duggan's knee into the ring post and brings it back into the ring. For some reason, they do the Divas rolling spot into the corner and back before Pittman puts on a single leg crab. Jim Duggan tries to mount a comeback with a haymaker but gets taken down. Craig Pittman goes back to working Duggan's leg on the mat until Duggan rakes the eyes. Sargeant Pittman gets a spinning toehold but Duggan kicks him out of the ring. Duggan punches Pittman as he gets back in the ring, Pittman tries a running crossbody but gets caught, Duggan's knee gives out and he can't slam Pittman down. Duggan knocks him down with a clothesline. 3-Point stance into a shoulder block knocks Pittman down again but Pittman with a single leg takedown, he moves into a wristlock on the mat, moving into the Code Red. Jim Duggan grabs the ropes but Pittman doesn't release before he's disqualified.

WINNER: JIM DUGGAN (Disqualification)

This was a pretty good match. Nothing remarkable and working the leg for the second half and then going to an arm bar didn't make sense, But taking that part away it showed Pittman as a killer, he just switched strategy for no reason.– [**] match but personally 3/10
