Scotty 2 Hotty enters the match, high fiving fans on
the way to the ring. Mordecai enters with a bit less flair, Michael
Cole and Tazz are on commentary and they say they don't know much
about him. He bows in the corner before the match starts. Scotty
looks concerned.
MORDECAI
VS. SCOTTY 2 HOTTY
WWE
Judgement Day (16th May 2004)
The bell rings and Scotty goes
for a headlock but Mordecai lifts him and throws him down to the mat,
then he sends Scotty's shoulder into the ringpost. After
forcing Scotty into a crossface on himself Mordecai exits the ring,
driving his knee into Scotty 2 Hotty's chest as he hangs out of the
ring. A clubbing blow brings it back into the ring, where Mordecai
sends Scotty into the ring post. Rope-assisted standing camel clutch
follows, Mordecai breaks to avoid disqualification, but goes back to
it and puts an exclamation point on it with a boot to the head.
Scotty 2 Hotty fights back to his feet but he gets cut off with a
knee to the gut. Mordecai sends Scotty across the ring but the
clothesline is ducked. Scotty 2 Hotty brings Mordecai down with a
bulldog setting him up for The Worm but he gets dragged into the
middle rope. Mordecai beats on Scotty, decapitating him with a
short-arm clothesline. Mordecai's busted his lip, but it won't make a
difference now as he finishes the match with a crucifix bomb.
WINNER: MORDECAI
This was a short exhibition for a new character at
the time, putting him over a popular lower card guy. In retrospect, it's a fun glimpse at the first time WWE did single brand
pay-per-views. Scotty 2 Hotty got the flurry of offense in the match,
but was in the later stages of his career so he made the new kid on
the block look at least worth the price of admission.– no stars for
the match but personally 2/10 squash.
