For May I'm going to try and hit some doubles. I will
look at King of the Ring qualifying matches that were contested in
May. We start with an absolute squash, with Mabel (the future
Viscera and Big Daddy V) taking on Adam Bomb (Bryan Adams/Wrath) We
see a fan showing a sign saying “Adam Bomb King of the Ring” and
part of me wonders if that would have been a better alternative. They
face off and Mo gets in Adam Bomb's face, giving Mabel
a chance for a cheap shot. He clubs Bomb across the back and the
referee backs him off so the match can officially start. Vince
McMahon and Dok Hendrix (Michael PS Hayes) are on commentary for this
match.
MABEL
VS. ADAM BOMB
WWF
In Your House 1 (14th May 1995)
Mabel continues the attack in
the corner as the bell rings, then squashes Adam Bomb into the
turnbuckles. Adam Bomb is sent across the ring but he avoids the
charge, he gets in some punches and sends Mabel through the ropes
with a flying shoulder tackle. Adam Bomb Slingshots himself over the
top rope onto Mabel and sends him back in the ring. A slingshot
clothesline drops Mabel again, Adam Bomb covers but only gets 1. He
hits a flying clothesline and Mabel kicks out at 1 again. Mabel
reverses an irish whip and sends Bomb into the corner, Adam Bomb
walks into a rolling heel kick. Dok rightly gives Mabel
credit for moving like that at his weight. Adam Bomb ducks under a
clothesline but Mabel catches the running crossbody and slams Adam
Bomb down to win the match.
WINNER: MABEL
It was a squash, as I said before the match. I could
take up even more space on the disastrous King of the Ring
tournament in 1995 but I would be flogging a dead horse. Adam Bomb
got most of the match before Mabel slammed him down, I'm just not a
fan of using Pay Per View time for squash matches.– no star ratings
at all for the match.
