Al Snow makes his way to the ring with Head. He's the
current hardcore champion, having beaten Hardcore Holly to retain the
previous week at Over the Edge. As told to us by Michael Cole on
commentary. Hardcore Holly
makes his entrance, but Al Snow meets him on the ramp. Holly is taken
down and Snow with the ground and pound before finally bringing it
into the ring so the match can start.
HARDCORE
HOLLY VS. AL SNOW (King of the Ring qualifier)
WWF
Heat (30th May 1999)
Al Snow
starts with rights and sends Hardcore Holly across the ring. Snow
ducks early, getting kicked. Hardcore Holly
sends him across the ring into a dropkick as Kevin Kelly mentions
both men are great wrestlers, despite their frequent hardcore
division matches. Hardcore Holly scoops slams Al Snow but gets thrown
off the top turnbuckle. Al Snow hits the combination headbutts to the
chest and sends Holly across the ring. Snow goes prone and takes
Holly's head off with a clothesline. Kelly and Cole are talking about
Undertaker Vince and Shane McMahon,
screwing Steve Austin
as Hardcore Holly reverses a Snowplough into the Falcon Arrow for the
win.
WINNER: HARDCORE HOLLY
It was a match on Heat to use up time to Kelly and
Cole could hype up a major story for the next night's Raw. It
furthered the tournament and no one got hurt, which is the minimum
you can ask for. They've had far better matches over this era.– [*]
match but personally 1/10
After the match X-Pac is shown walking backstage,
his match against Big Bossman is next.
