The aim for this month is just to get 20 matches
reviewed from Survivor Series. That theme may have been obvious,
what's also obvious is it's not a “best” or even “favourite”
matches. I'm picking these at random to be honest so far, but I may
try to theme next week.
This feud has been going on since September. Trish won
the championship at Unforgiven from Molly Holly, started a feud with
Victoria, who was involved in the rematch and beat her at No Mercy
the previous month. As Victoria got more out of control the rematch
made a hardcore match. Victoria is shown in her dressing room from a
camera in the ceiling (well, that wouldn't be OK today) the promo
goes over Victoria being jealous that WWE wanted them both when they
were fitness models, but Trish Stratus has been favoured. JR and
Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match.
Victoria enters first, looking crazy but focused. Probably 80/20
split. The last women's hardcore match was in September 1999 between
Tori and Ivory on an episode of Raw.

Victoria goes after Trish
before the entrance jacket or belt come off, kickstarting the match.
She chokes Trish with the ring jacket and throws her around the ring.
Trish Stratus is able to take the title from her waist whilst being choked,
which is quite the skill. The referee throws the belt to the side,
but it's a hardcore match! What if Trish planned to use it to get
out of the choke? Victoria grabs a broomstick, given her current
character get ready for witch jokes on commentary. Trish ducks a
broomstick shot and jumps over the second. The third shot is cut off
with a kick to the gut and Trish loses a test of strength using it
but monkey flips Victoria over. Victoria goes back again and begins
choking Trish, who also has to worry about her shoulders being down.
Victoria stands on one end of the broomstick before choking Trish
from behind. Victoria gets extra leverage by sitting on the top
turnbuckle but Trish kicks overhead and sends Victoria down to the
mat. Although for some reason the Network buffered instead of showing
me. Trish picks up a trash can lid from one of the weapon storage
trash cans in the corner but Victoria knocks it into her head with
the broomstick.

into the trashcan lid on the mat, so Trish bails to the floor.
Victoria follows, sending Trish into a trash can tied to the ringpost
and sending her face into the apron. Victoria sends Trish back into
the ring and slingshots in with a somersault legdrop for 2. Victoria
grabs a trash can from underneath the ring and positions it between
the ropes, opening towards the ring. Trish Stratus cuts her off and
catapults her into the side. Trish kicks the trash can off Victoria's
face and gets 2. Trish gets an ironing board from under the ring and
sets it up in the corner. Victoria is irish whipped into it and a
kick gets Trish another 2 count. Trish doesn't waste time, getting a
kendo stick from the corner and laying into Victoria's ribs. Victoria
drops from a shot to the back. Trish Stratus runs the kendo stick
into Victoria's throat, but a kick cuts her off. Victoria gets a
trash can lid and tries to send it through Trish's skull, but we see
Victoria's nose bleeding. Victoria climbs to the top rope, but Trish
handstands into a headscissors then pulls herself up with a trash can
lid to hit Victoria in the face. Victoria takes another shot from the
lid, dropping to the floor.
Trish follows her out of the
ring and sends her into the ring steps. Trish sends Victoria back in
the ring but Victoria cuts her off with a kick to the gut as we see a
replay of Victoria dropping from the top rope to the floor. She hits
a powerbomb, but why would we want to see that? Victora grabs a
mirror from underneath the ring and I smell a drinking game for
household items. JR points out that it's the first time she'll be
seeing her bloody nose. Also if she smashes that one it will have
been two tonight after the creep footage. Trish kicks Victoria in the
face, she weakly sends her off the ropes and they both duck before
Trish hits the Chick Kick for 2. Trish grabs the baking tray but gets
hit on the back with a kendo stick, completely killing her finisher.
Victoria lifts Trish from the middle rope but they fall in what was
meant to be a bulldog, Trish still gets 2. Trish runs into a drop
toehold, landing on the kendo stick. Victoria grabs a fire
extinguisher from under the ring, making it one weapon that makes
sense. Trish Stratus grabs Victoria by the hair but the extinguisher
goes off in Trish's face. Victoria hits a suplex and floats over,
getting the three.
WINNER: VICTORIA
At the beginning, I liked this match and was starting
to think maybe it wasn't so bad in the Diva era. Then the Chick Kick
and bulldog didn't happen... The ironing board wasn't needed and the
broomsticks could have been replaced with kendo sticks. The match was
built up with a chair shot and that didn't even come in to play..–
As a match, it's * ½ but personally, I'd rate it 1/10
