Jamie Noble won the title at King of the Ring back in
June, beating The Hurricane. He has Nidia accompanying him to the
ring as usual as Michael Cole and Tazz are ready to commentate
Smackdown's first match tonight. I will always love the way the
entranceway for this event was set up. Billy Kidman has beaten Jamie
Noble twice recently, so has enough Superstar Points to challenge for
his championship tonight.

Noble © VS. Billy Kidman (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)
WWE
Survivor Series 2002 (17th November 2002)
Billy Kidman immediately rolls
Noble up, but he kicks out at 1, the second roll-up only keeps Noble
down for one. Kidman charges but is sent into the air, he fires off a
hurricanrana and covers for another 1 count. Jamie Noble rolls out of
the ring, but Kidman brings him back in. That was just enough for
Noble to jump Kidman as he tries to enter, then sending him into the
corner. The champion is sent into the corner, going chest-first and
ducking the clothesline attempt before hitting a neckbreaker. Jamie
Noble gets 2 on the pinfall and drives Kidman into the turnbuckles.
Billy Kidman gets choked across the bottom rope, then Noble grinds
him down on the mat. Billy Kidman gets to his feet, turning it around
and kicking Noble in the gut but Noble sends him out to the floor.
Jamie Noble dives through the ropes onto Billy Kidman and sends him
back into the ring. The champion climbs to the top rope but his
crossbody meets a dropkick by Kidman.
Billy Kidman blocks rights by
Noble, hitting a reply of his own and knocking Noble down with a back
elbow. Jamie Noble stands up into a clothesline and gets dropped a
third time with a dropkick. Jamie Noble slides through Kidman's legs
but the pumphandle is cut off with elbows before he hits a
neckbreaker across his knee. Jamie Noble goes nowhere on the irish
whip and knees Kidman in the gut, getting a nearfall from a Michinoku
driver. Billy Kidman gets out of a waist lock and hits the back suplex
into a facebuster. He sets Jamie Noble up for the Shooting Star Press
but Nidia drags him out of the ring. Billy Kidman hits a crossbody to
Noble out on the floor as Nidia screeches inaudibly to my ears.
Kidman sends Noble back into the ring and hits a slingshot legdrop
for a nearfall. Jamie Noble lands on his feet from the back suplex,
attempting a Tiger Bomb, but Kidman counters. Nidia grabs his ankle
as Kidman picks up speed. Nidia is brought up to the apron, Noble
charges at Kidman to save her but gets sidestepped and knocks her to
the floor. Billy Kidman hits the sitout spinebuster for a nearfall!
They struggle to get any
momentum with chain wrestling until Jamie Noble hits the Tiger Bomb
and covers Kidman from a standing position for 2. Jamie Noble runs
into a boot in the corner but cuts off Kidman as he gets to the top
rope. Billy Kidman fights out of a superplex and hits a facebuster
from the top rope! 1, 2, no! Jamie Noble is able to send Kidman into
the ropes and sets his feet on the top turnbuckle for an elevated DDT
and another close nearfall. Jamie Noble tries to slam Kidman but he
lands on his feet, hitting an enziguri. He drags Noble in position
and climbs to the top rope. Nidia grabs his ankle but he kicks her to
the floor. Jamie Noble is up on the second rope, fighting with
Kidman, but gets knocked back down to the mat. Billy Kidman hits the
Shooting Star Press and wins the championship so his new music can
play again.
WINNER: Billy Kidman (NEW WWE Cruiserweight Champion)
This was a really good match for the time they were
given. I have a few nitpicks like Noble's high flying straight away
when he was a ground-based wrestler against Kidman and Kidman being
able to counter-wrestle him on the other side of the coin, but that
could be from them wrestling so much recently. This is one of my
favourite undercard matches and I was glad going back that there
weren't any big mistakes I hated.– As a match, it's ** ¾, but
personally, I'd rate it 4/10
