TEAM ANGLE VS. TEAM GUERRERO

Team Angle consists of Captain Kurt Angle, Luthor Reigns, Mark Jindrak and United States Champion, Carlito. Team Guerrero is led by Captain Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, Big Show and John Cena. Michael Cole and Tazz are on commentary for this match. Team Angle all come out together, Carlito beat John Cena for the US title on his first night for Smackdown, Cena wants his belt back. Big Show enters first for his team with his ankle taped up after an attack by Angle and his boys. Rob Van Dam out next, followed by Eddie in his lowrider. John Cena enters the match, staring a hole through Carlito, he makes a beeline for Carlito. Carlito's bodyguard Jesus gets in the way, keeping himself between Cena and Carlito as they make the way up the ramp. This was part of the storyline where John Cena was stabbed in a nightclub, due to Carlito. They brawl backstage, Cena throws a referee into some boxes when he tries to intervene. Jesus throws a garbage can at Cena but he just shrugs it off, continuing to follow Carlito. Jesus catches up and brawls with Cena some more as Carlito finds an open car. Jesus is sent over the bonnet of a car but escapes with Carlito. We go back to the ring where Cole reminds us the match didn't start yet, Team Angle complains that they're down 1 person as Eddie gets out of the ring, brawling with Angle. RVD follows as Jindrak focuses his attention on Eddie, leaving Van Dam to get double-teamed by Angle and Reigns.

Cena's in the ring and he hits Kurt Angle with an F-U. Eddie Guerrero hits a frog splash leaving Big Show to get the pin and win it for his team.

WINNERS: TEAM GUERRERO (Survivors: Eddie Guerrero, John Cena & Big Show)

The first half of the match was Eddie playing the face in peril as Kurt Angle showed his coaching skills with his new team. Carlito getting out of the match before it started is one of my least favourite tropes in these matches but it made sense and gave the work on Eddie more purpose. The eliminations weren't paced very well for my liking but the match itself was well worked..– As a match it's ***, but personally, I'd rate it 2.5/10
