SASHA BANKS (C) VS. BECKY LYNCH

I'm back to a 3-post week due to lack of time, which handily will still finish off NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable off. Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips and Corey Graves are on commentary for this match.

Eva Marie of Total Divas fame is shown in the crowd before a video package for Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch, our next match. The friendship between these two was tarnished at NXT TakeOver: Rival in the Fatal Four Way match (here) Becky Lynch then won number one contendership on an episode of NXT leading to tensions between the now former friends. We see Becky Lynch walking to Gorilla Position, Byron Saxton says this match is Becky's dream come true as we await the champion. Sasha Banks also gets shown from behind the curtain, swaggering down to the ring and holding the belt up to Lynch before the in-ring introductions. The fans chant for Sasha before the match, but Becky has her supporters here too.

Graves says Banks taught Lynch everything, although she travelled the world before even meeting Banks... OK. Sasha Banks brings Lynch to the ropes by her hair, using as much of the 5-count as she can, before doing the same again this time pulling on Becky's arm. Sasha Banks takes some time to gloat turning around into a small package by Lynch for 2. Becky Lynch slowly gets to the top rope but Banks brings her back down to earth and locks in the Banks Statement forcing Becky to tap out.

WINNER: SASHA BANKS (STILL CHAMPION)

I really enjoyed this match, the story was clear with Banks wanting to take credit for Becky being where she was, and Becky wanting to prove to Banks that any one of them could be champion. The opening sequence was very good, but the neck work on Becky went to shit once the arms became the story. Sasha having to catch Becky by surprise and get a Banks Statement from there made sense with the connection these two had. WORKRATE: 2.25/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2/5 OVERALL: 4.25/10

Highlights of the match play as Banks celebrates at the top of the ramp. Becky Lynch gets to her feet showing more emotion than I have for the last 5 years, looking devastated with her loss as she makes her way to the back to applause from the crowd
