BULL DEMPSEY VS. BARON CORBIN

We go to the back we see Kevin Owens backstage with William Regal. Regal's had to keep Owens and NXT Champion Sami Zayn separate for the last few weeks before their main event tonight. Bull Dempsey enters as we get straight to our next match. Dempsey cost Baron Corbin his #1 contenders tournament match against Adrian Neville, his first loss in NXT. So Corbin wanted this match to get revenge. Here he comes, Jason Albert, Corey Graves and Rich Brennan remain on commentary.

MATCH 2: BULL DEMPSEY VS. BARON CORBIN

Baron Corbin rushes the ring, hitting Bull Dempsey with a right hand, Dempsey rolls outside so Corbin follows and beats him around ringside as Albert reminds us it's a no DQ match. Dempsey decides it's safer in the ring, but Corbin quickly puts a stop to that, kicking him in the gut and driving his elbow into the top of Dempsey's head. Dempsey is sent into the turnbuckle so he goes back out. He gets halfway up the ramp before he gets something on Corbin, sending him into the ring and suplexing him on the ramp. Dempsey sends Corbin into the ring post. Dempsey stomps Corbin on the floor and goes to look for something under the ring. He can't find what he's looking for so he goes back to beating Corbin up against the ring and takes it back inside. Baron Corbin catches Dempsey in a spinebuster for a nearfall. Corbin fucks up clotheslining Dempsey over the top, and the fans call him out on it. Bull Dempsey takes back control, running Corbin over on the floor. Dempsey rolls Corbin back inside and hits a diving headbutt for a close nearfall. Dempsey can't believe Corbin kicked out, he shoves him out of the ring with his boot and sends him into the ring steps outside. Dempsey grabs a steel chair, and Corbin's back in the ring as Dempsey returns. Corbin catches Dempsey with the End of Days and avoids the chair shot! 1, 2, 3.

WINNER: BARON CORBIN

This was about what I expected. These guys got a bit of time each to look like a dominant competitor over the other and show what they can do. Baron Corbin got a win in a long match and his problem with Dempsey is over. I like that they didn't overdo the no disqualification side of the match, really working it more towards being outside of the ring, and only teasing it at the end.I'd still call the match an overall disappointment, but you can't expect too much. WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 1.5/5 OVERALL 3.5/10

William Regal is seen backstage again, this time with NXT Champion, Sami Zayn. Sasha Banks and Bayley are shown backstage preparing for their NXT Women's Championship match later on tonight.
