BLAKE & MURPHY (C) VS. THE LUCHA DRAGONS

Jason Albert, Corey Graves and Rich Brennan kindly remain with us for commentary as The Lucha Dragons enter ready for their chance to win the NXT Tag Team Championships back. This is followed by Wesley Blake, Buddy Murphy and their annoying theme tune. Blake and Murphy won the championships by beating the Lucha Dragons two weeks ago. (Episode #262) so tonight they want to prove it wasn't a fluke.

Sin Cara starts with Buddy Murphy, Rich Brennan talks about the similarities between Blake & Murphy's title win and The Lucha Dragons' win against The Ascension back at NXT TakeOver: Fatal Four Way Sin Cara works a headlock, and Wesley Blake gets a quick tag. Blake gets the tag and climbs to the top rope as Murphy hits Sin Cara with a running suplex. Blake hits a frog splash from the top rope to retain the championships.

WINNERS: BLAKE & MURPHY (STILL NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS)

Kalisto can't work the pace with people he seems to want to, making some of his work here look sloppy. If he hadn't have caught himself on the plancha attempt early in the match who knows where or how he could have landed? Besides that and the constant nearfalls at the end, this was a decent enough match, although it tried too hard to make Blake & Murphy look cunning, so it's left me unsure how excited I am to see more of their run here. WORKRATE: 2/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2.75/5 OVERALL 4.75/10

During the celebration, the feed is hijacked telling us to tune in next week. Unfortunately, it doesn't cut out dance theme #23,932.
