Matt Striker and Vampiro are of course on commentary for this match.
When we return there is a video showing off Pentagon Jr. His travels from Mexico to Japan and how it's enhanced his fighting. The end lingers on a still of his face for a bit too long for me to be comfortable. Speaking of Mr. Zero Fear, he accompanies Chavo Guerrero Jr to the ring for our next match. Being the only man in Mexico to have Chavo's back. Fenix comes out to face Chavo and of course he will have Sexy Star in his corner tonight.
MATCH
2: CHAVO GUERRERO JR VS. FENIX
This is a first-time match up.
They slowly feel eachother out before locking up. Chavo uses his size
advantage to get behind Fenix, he turns Fenix back around and
snapmares him down, grinding his boot on Fenix's face. Chavo brings
Fenix back vertical with a side headlock, but Fenix breaks it,
getting Chavo into one of his own. Chavo sends Fenix across the ring
as the fans are duelling in chants for both men, it's surprisingly
even between the two. Fenix sends Chavo into the ropes with a
moonsault dropkick but runs into a big boot. Chavo runs into a
dropkick and Fenix covers, but Chavo is quick to kick out after 1.
Fenix keeps Chavo on the mat with an arm bar, but Chavo fights to his
feet and sends Fenix across the ring. Fenix sends Chavo into the
corner with a jumping headscissors. Fenix takes too long before
charging across the ring and gets sent over to the apron. He hits
Chavo with a springboard double knees but Chavo rolls through! Chavo
applies a single leg boston crab! Fenix is in the middle of the ring,
but he's not tapping as Chavo wrenches it back. Chavo drags Fenix
away from the ropes, but he doesn't have the leverage sitting back
would give him. Pentagon tries to pull the bottom rope away from
Fenix, but he manages to break the hold.
Chavo Guerrero Jr starts
working on Fenix's left legs with kicks and wraps it around the ring
post, but he can only cover for a nearfall. Chavo twists at the knee
in the middle of the ring but Fenix kicks out with what's now his
good leg. Fenix gets some leg kicks in but is flattened with a
forearm. Sexy Star offers him words of encouragement, bringing the
attention of both Chavo and Pentagon. Fenix backflips out of a back
suplex attempt, but it's countered with a standing switch. Chavo
sends Fenix into the ropes but he catches himself and swings back
into the ring, Chavo charges and isn't so lucky. Ending up at the
floor. Pentagon Jr grabs Fenix's ankle but is kicked in the face.
Fenix slowly gets to the top turnbuckle and after finding his balance
knocks them both down with a twisting plancha! Danny Trejo is shown
enjoying the action at Fenix sends Chavo back into the ring. Fenix
springboards himself back in the ring to avoid being counted out but
Chavo hits a standing dropkick. Chavo covers, 1, 2, 2.9, no!
Fenix drags himself to the
corner and Chavo carries on attacking the left knee, wrapping it
around the middle rope.Chavo barely avoids disqualification, and he's
still limping too. Fenix is able to counter a monkey flip, perching
Chavo on the top turnbuckle. Fenix springboards to the top rope,
kicking Chavo in the head! Chavo drops straight to the mat. Fenix
goes back to the top rope, not putting weight on his left leg unless
he has to, but Pentagon's on the apron. Sexy Star gets on the apron
to try and tell Rick Knoxx, but the distraction allows Pentagon to
crotch Fenix. Chavo takes his place on the top rope and hits the frog
splash for the win.
WINNER: CHAVO GUERRERO
JR
It was an OK match,
it just seemed to have a ceiling and they worked to it. Fenix's leg
didn't bother him as much when he needed to kick or use high-flying
moves, and the finish was cheap but besides that it was a fairly
decent match. WORKRATE: 2.25/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 2.25/5 OVERALL:
4.5/10
Chavo and Pentagon celebrate
in the ring, but quickly vanish as Sexy Star slides in to check on
Fenix. She has a mic and says Blue Demon Jr will be back soon, and
he's gunning for Chavo, then I think she called him a bitch or
something. I dunno but Striker squealed like a schoolgirl over it.
