At Money in the Bank Bray Wyatt mysteriously appeared at the foot of the ladder as Reigns was going to grab the briefcase, shoving the ladder over and levelling Reigns with a Sister Abigail. Reigns wanted revenge so a match was signed between them at Battleground last month. Roman Reigns was attacked by Luke Harper (disguised in a hoodie) giving Bray Wyatt the win. Roman Reigns called on his good friend Dean Ambrose for support, and here we are now. The Wyatt Family enter first, and the crowd can really make this entrance awesome with their spotlights. Ambrose is out first for his team and he waits for Reigns at ringside. They enter the ring together and along with Erick Rowan (Wyatt Family) and Seth Rollins (Former Shield) these guys had awesome matches last year. Luke Harper is someone I constantly say is underutilized, so its good to get one of his matches to review. Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Jerry “The King” Lawler handle commentary.
THE WYATT FAMILY VS. ROMAN REIGNS & DEAN AMBROSE
WWE Summerslam (23rd August 2015)
Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper start off exchanging right hands. Ambrose gets Harper against the ropes, hitting him with a chop. Harper sends Ambrose across the ring and follows, but Ambrose ducks a clothesline hitting Harper with a jumping forearm and right hands on the mat. Harper goes to the corner but Ambrose hits another running forearm before bringing Harper back out with a bulldog. Ambrose goads Wyatt in the ring, and ducks leaving Reigns to catch Wyatt with a right hand. Both Wyatt Family members roll out to the floor and Reigns assists Ambrose in picking up speed for a tope through the ropes on to Harper. Bray Wyatt meets Reigns with a kick, and they fight around ringside as Ambrose brings Harper back into the ring. Wyatt comes over to assist his partner but gets sent into the French announce table for his troubles. Harper's back at ringside, Ambrose avoids a powerbomb and Reigns leaps off the steps CLEARS AMBROSE and knocks Harper down!
Roman Reigns sends Bray Wyatt over to the timekeepers' area, and Ambrose runs across the three announce tables to launch himself into Wyatt. Dean Ambrose sends the legal man back in the ring as Reigns gets back to his corner. Luke Harper's left alone with these guys whilst his leader recovers. Ambrose tags out hitting a running dropkick on Harper as he's against the ropes before Reigns hits him with a jumping clothesline. Ambrose tags back in knocking Harper back down with an elbow drop from the top rope. Ambrose sets up for Dirty Deeds (double-underhook DDT edition) but Wyatt distracts him from the apron, allowing Harper to get a cheap shot in from behind. Reigns attacks Bray on the outside. Harper comes to his partner's aide but Reigns is able to fight them both off before Wyatt slams him on the apron with a uranage. Harper dives through the ropes, basically shoving Reigns into the announce table before a superkick sends him over to the other side. Ambrose attempts a tope but The Wyatt Family catch him and try to send him into the apron, Ambrose rebounds back but is caught with a big boot from Harper and a follow up senton splash by Wyatt. That looked a lot rougher than I made out.
Luke Harper makes the tag to Wyatt who brings Ambrose back in the ring at Lawler's request. Dean Ambrose is crawling to his corner looking for Reigns, but he's still on the floor by the announce tables. Wyatt hits Ambrose with a knee to the face and a suplex throw sends Ambrose across the ring. Luke Harper gets the tag and he steps over Ambrose on the mat. Wyatt makes the most of his 5-count with some mounted rights. Harper brings Ambrose into the corner and rips his shirt off, clubbing him on the back of the neck and hitting a hard chop to his chest. Ambrose chops back but Harper hits hard with a right hand. Harper draped Ambrose over the middle rope and tags out to Bray, who walks around ringside and drops Ambrose with a rope-assisted brainbuster on the floor! Roman Reigns is still down and I have a bad feeling I know where this match is going. Dean Ambrose is brought back in the ring for more punishment before Bray tags back out. Bray Wyatt sends Ambrose into Luke Harper's boot. Harper hooks Ambrose's leg on a cover but still only gets a nearfall.
Luke Harper locks in a crossface before tagging out to Bray again. Bray hits another running senton covering for 2. Dean Ambrose gets to his corner, but there's no one there to tag. Wyatt brings him across the ring into the top turnbuckle and sandwiches him in the corner with a running avalanche. Bray Wyatt covers and Ambrose is barely able to kick out. Luke Harper's back in now and he kicks at Ambrose, toying with him. A guillotine sends Ambrose's throat into the middle rope and Harper covers for another 2 count. Harper keeps Ambrose in place whilst he gets another quick tag to Bray. Bray keeps beating down on Ambrose with right hands. Ambrose rebounds through the ropes but misses a blind swing, dropping to his knees. Ambrose slumps in the corner as the fans chant “Roman's sleeping” and I think I saw Wyatt break character. Ambrose follows Wyatt across the ring, hitting him with a running forearm. Wyatt knocks Ambrose into the ropes with another right hand but Ambrose rebounds back, Lariat connects!
Roman Reigns is finally back on the apron, and both Wyatt and Ambrose get hot tags Reigns knocks Harper down with a pair of clotheslines, ducks one of Harpers and hits a third from an irish whip. Reigns runs into a back elbow in the corner but gets a right hand in. He runs into a boot before getting in a clothesline. Harper knees Reigns in the face, so Reigns picks him up and throws him, Reigns hits another suplex variation and sets up for the Superman punch. He knocks Bray Wyatt off the apron but runs into a superkick and sitout powerbomb. Harper keeps Reigns' shoulders down but Reigns kicks out at 2 ½. Bray Wyatt shouts from the apron he knows how to put Reigns away so Harper tags him in, Wyatt sits on the top rope as Harper lifts Reigns for a powerbomb but Reigns fights out, hitting both Wyatt Family members with a Superman punch! Dean Ambrose gets the tag and Reigns lifts Wyatt on his shoulders, Doomsday Device! 1, 2, no! Harper broke it up. Reigns saves Ambrose from a powerbomb with a Superman punch, sending Harper out of the ring. Bray Wyatt was playing possum! He springs to his feet, but Ambrose fights out of the Sister Abigail. Dirty Deeds! Ambrose tags out to Reigns who finishes it with a Spear.
WINNERS: ROMAN REIGNS & DEAN AMBROSE
Having Roman Reigns team with Dean Ambrose post-Shield is a good idea. Their problem was with Seth Rollins for turning on them and not each other. This was a decent enough epilogue to their feuds last year also. (Ambrose/Wyatt singly and Shield/Wyatt Family) the match was really a showcase with Ambrose, having Reigns playing dead outside for most of it, bringing himself back into it just in time to win for his team. – WORKRATE: 3/5 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT 3.75/5 OVERALL 6.75/10
