Tye Dillinger enters first for his match against Baron Corbin, and next week on NXT Kevin Owens sits down with Rene Young for an interview. Baron Corbin enters and he's been crushing fools in NXT in record time. Corey Graves hangs around in the same circles as Corbin and he doesn't say much, but when Corbin speaks people listen.
BARON CORBIN VS. TYE DILLINGER
NXT TakeOver: R Evolution
11th December 2014
Dillinger looks nervous here, as Brennan mentions that the longest any of Corbin's victims has lasted is 22 seconds. The bell rings and the fans become a speaking stopwatch. Dillinger is able to get Corbin into the corner first and gets in some offence. That didn't last as Corbin sends him across the ring. Corbin hits snake eyes and a big boot to Dillinger before he looks out into the crowd. There we see Bull Dempsey looking on from the front row, staring Corbin out. End of Days keeps Dillinger down for 3 at about 35 seconds, staring at Dempsey the whole time.
WINNER: BARON CORBIN
This was a nice little showcase for Baron Corbin. His timed squash gimmick is a nice touch and a unique way of getting some crowd interaction for his matches. This is clearly setting up for a hoss battle between Dempsey and Corbin. As a match though there isn't a lot to rate. – Rating: 1.5/10
Corbin exits the ring and walks over to Dempsey, they have a tense staredown over the barricade before Corbin makes his way up the ramp. We get what's basically a replay of the whole match before we see Corbin still staring Dempsey out from the top of the ramp. We cut to Sami Zayn backstage who says it's all or nothing for him tonight. Enzo and Cass come over to talk to him as we get a double feature of Zayn saying he needs the championship before he can move on from NXT. The camera in the locker room moves and we see Kevin Owens sitting a few benches away from his old buddy, Zayn looks up but Owens just looks through him before Zayn leaves the locker room.
