MR HUGHES vs. KAMALA

 This match follows a King of the Ring preview with Gene Okerlund. Kamala makes his way down to the ring before we go to commercial break. After which, Mr. Hughes walks to the ring, accompanied by Harvey Whippleman. 

Jim Ross and Bobby “The Brain” Hennan are on commentary for this match. Howard Finkel is our ring announcer for this match. 

MR. HUGHES VS. KAMALA 

King of the Ring 1993 qualifier 

WWF Wrestling Challenge (23rd May 1993)

  Mr. Hughes attacks before the bell rings, he clubs away at Kamala in the corner, targetng the back. Mr. Hughes mixes in some right hands before sending Kamala across the ring. 

 Kamala avoids the charge and strikes at Mr. Hughes with no rhyme or reason until Mr. Hughes rakes the eyes. Mr. Hughes dominates with basic strikes and chokes Kamala on the mat at some point. Kamala fights back with overhand chops and hits the throat but Mr. Hughes dominates most of the match. Mr. Hughes sends Kamala off the ropes into a dropkick. He hits a second one as the weight guess is 350 lbs minimum. Kamala fights back and sends Mr. Hughes off the ropes into a throat thrust. Kamala kicks Mr Hughes, knocking him off his feet. The referee is Bill Alfonso, as this is a point I get to mention it. Kamala hits a running splash to Hughes’ back but Kim Chi causes a distraction. Kamala goes out to the floor and chases Kim Chi before slamming him on the floor.   

WINNER: MR. HUGHES 

  It was a basic match, low limited ceiling, But it was under 5 minutes with a count out. [*] 1/10 

Kamala returns to the ring after hearing the bell to get his heat back, he also takes his frustrations out on Harvey Whippleman as the video cuts.
