JAZZ (C) vs. TRISH STRATUS

 Before the match, Mr. McMahon is shown walking backstage, he walks into Ric Flair’s office. Ric Flair and Arn Anderson are in there, and the basic idea is that there’s a not-so-friendly rivalry between the brands. Trish Stratus makes her way out first, Trish beat Molly Holly to become the #1 contender on Raw the previous week. Speaking of Molly, she decides to make an appearance for this match. She cuts a promo to say that the crowd don’t want a cheater or someone who flaunts their body around. They want a “pure” champion like Molly Holly. She then takes a cheap shot at Trish and throws her out of the ring. Jazz makes her way down to the ring as Molly sends the challenger into the ring steps. 

Jim Ross and “The King” Lawler are on commentary, Howard Finkel is our ring announcer for this match. 

JAZZ (C) VS. Trish Stratus (WWF Women’s Championship 

WWF Backlash 2002 (Date) 

  The bell rings with Jazz and Trish in the ring. Charles Robinson is our referee, Jazz sends Trish into the corner. 

 Trish walks out into a sidewalk slam for 2. Jazz kicks Trish in the midsection but is caught with a stun gun. Jazz hits a rolling fireman's carry but Trish Stratus fights back. Jazz connects with jabs but Stratus replies with forearms. Trish hits a roundhouse kick and covers for 2. Trish sends Jazz into the corner and hits the handstand headscissors. Trish hits a neckbreaker and covers, but Jazz gets a shoulder up at 2. Trish Stratus ducks early after sending Jazz across the ring and gets kicked. Jazz hits a sitout powerbomb on Trish but still only gets 2. 

 Jazz chokes Trish across the bottom rope, breaking before 5 to avoid a disqualification. Jazz eats shit on a jumping splash in the corner, Trish rolls her up for 2. Jazz counters the Stratusfaction into another powerbomb, Trish gets a shoulder up at 2. Jazz sends Trish into the turnbuckles, Trish gets her boot up but Jazz catches it with a dragon screw. 

 Jazz puts Trish Stratus into a boston crab, Trish almost grabs the bottom rope, so Jazz pulls her back to the middle of the ring and locking in the STF. Trish Stratus is forced to tap out  

WINNER: JAZZ (STILL WWE Women’s Champion) 

  This was a pretty decent match. But not much else. They had a simple story and followed a formula, but it’s a formula fr a reason.[*3/4] 3/10 

Jazz decides not to comment after the match, leaving with her WWF Women’s Championship.
