Before the match Ric Flair meets with Batista backstage, he puts Batista over and says he can take Batista as far as Batista wants to go in the business before going through a backstory, I have no idea if it’s true, Flair tells Batista to go out there and show the World who he really is. We go to a commercial break before the match.
Batista makes his way out with Ric Flair by his side, The Hurricane is his victim tonight, and has no back up. The Hurricane stretches his television time out by posing in the corners and giving his goggles to a kid in the crowd. Batista gets bored of waiting as The Hurricane gets on the apron, knocking him to the floor. Batista climbs out of the ring and removes Hurricane’s cape before lifting Hurricane overhead and throwing him back into the ring.
Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match. Lillian Garcia is our ring announcer.
BATISTA VS. THE HURRICANE
WWE Raw (2nd December 2002)
The bell rings as Batista gets back in the ring, The Hurricane avoids a snake eyes, Batista stops his momentum so he doesn’t hit the corner but walks into right hands from The Hurricane. Batista plants his feet and sends Hurricane into the corner. That’s all the offence I expect for the former Shane Helms. The Hurricane stumbles into a Spinebuster, Batista shoves The Hurricane into the ropes and hits a pop-up sitout Powerbomb for the win.
WINNER: BATISTA
This was a short match to put Batista over, you won’t be missing it when WWE moves to Netflix. [DUD] 1/10
After the match, Ric Flair gets on the apron and he tells Batista to Powerbomb him again. Kane runs down to the ring, making the save for his tag team partner. He ducks a clothesline from Batista and hits a jumping clothesline. Kane sends Batista over the top and out of the ring before setting his pyro off.
