TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS VS. TONS OF FUNK

 This was a preshow match on YouTube. Team Rhodes Scholars make their way out. Damien Sandow says there has been a social media frenzy for a Rhodes Scholars reunion. Cody says it took a lot of effort and going through red tape to get what they wanted.

Ernest Miller’s music hits and Cameron and Naomi make their way out to cheer on Tons of Funk. Brodus Clay has to bring Tensai out and I don’t blame the former A-Train for being hesitant. Last month on Raw Roulette in Las Vegas Tensai thought he was taking part in a lingerie match, but it turned out to be a dance contest, which he competed in wearing the lingerie and it showed… ahem, personality.

TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS VS. TONS OF FUNK

Eliminaation Chamber 2013 (17^th February 2013)

  Brodus Clay shoves Sandow down as the match begins. Sandow begs off and leaves the ring to regroup with Cody Rhodes. Rhodes tags in but he wants to face Tensai.

  Tons of Funk oblige and Cody Rhodes connects with a jab. Tensai backs Cody into the corner and headbutts him before sending him across the ring into the turnbuckles. Cody Rhodes avoids a Vader bomb but Tensai lands on his feet and squashes Cody in the corner. Cody is sent into the ropes but Tensai ducks early, Cody Rhodes ducks and connects with a right hand from the mat before tagging out. Damien Sandow connects with right hands, Tensai shoves him into the ropes but runs into a boot from Sandow. Cody Rhodes gets the tag before Tensai drops Sandow. Cody jumps on Tensai’s back as Sandow connects with a dropkick to his knee. Cody Rhodes knocks Tensai off his feet for the first time with a Disaster Kick, tagging Sandow back in.

  Damien Sandow keeps up the offense with stomps and clubs to Tensai before hitting a knee drop and tagging back out. Cody chokes and stomps Tensai against the middle rope, we have16 ½ minutes left until the PPV as Tensai starts to fight back with right hands to the midsection, Tensai knocks Cody down with an uppercut but misses the back senton allowing Sandow to get the tag. Damien Sandow hits a knee drop and the Elbow of Distain before allowing Tensai to get to his feet in the corner. Damien Sandow hits him with a clothesline in the corner right hands. Damien Sandow wants a run-up and hits a brick wall in the corner. Both teams make the tag and a fresh Brodus Clay knocks Rhodes down with clotheslines. Brodus Clay hits the running avalanche in the corner but the T-Bone suplex is interrupted by Sandow’s dropkick from behind.

  Tensai knocks Sandow down and Tons of Funk sandwich him just by running at each other. They hit a double running splash on Cody Rhodes and Clay covers for the win.

WINNERS: TONS OF FUNK

This was a short match but was competitive for what they got. Tons of Funk continued their unbeaten run as a team and Team Rhodes Scholars didn’t look like complete enhancement talent. It was a fun match for the people that saw it, but those that didn’t weren’t missing much. [**] 3.5/10
