BAM BAM BIGELOW (C) VS. BRIAN KNOBBS

 Before the match, “Mean” Gene Okerlund is backstage with Brian Knobbs. Knobbs says he was on top of the mountain until Bam Bam Bigelow and Lex Luger knocked him down.  Fit Finlay has refocused his mind and he’s ready to take his hardcore championship back. Bam Bam Bigelow makes his way out with the WCW Hardcore Championship. Tony Schiavone calls it the Cruiserweight Championship as we see Bigelow’s title victory on 7^th February Nitro. Brian Knobbs makes his way out, we see Lex Luger breaking Knobbs' hand on the 31^st January episode of Nitro.

BAM BAM BIGELOW © VS. BRIAN KNOBBS

WCW Hardcore Championship

WCW SuperBrawl 2000 (20^th February 2000)

Bam Bam Bigelow is holding a chair in the ring, Brian Knobbs has a trash can lid on the outside. Bigelow gives chase around ringside but is distracted by Finlay’s presence.

  Brian Knobbs hits Bigelow from behind with a trash can and they take a comically long journey so Knobbs can send Bigelow into the WCW.com area. Bam Bam Bigelow reverses an irish whip sending Knobbs onto a walkway next to the crowd and hits him in the head with a trash can. Brian Knobbs tries to get away but Bigelow closes the gap and sends Knobbs into a wall backstage. Bam Bam Bigelow slams Brian Knobbs through a table but gets distracted by Finlay. Bigelow takes a shot, but Fit Finlay knocks him down with the cast. Brian Knobbs tells Finlay to let him do it alone and sends Bigelow into the wall. Brian Knobbs drops a trash can over Bigelow’s back as they start making their way back to the ring. Bigelow is sent over the guard rail back to ringside, Knobbs whips Bam Bam into the steps and brings a table out.

 Mark Madden gets a good line. “Good job Bigelow has the tattoos to protect his head” and ruins it by asking who puts the tables under the ring. Bigelow’s head is bounced off the top of the ring steps before Knobbs brings it back in the ring. Brian Knobbs gets in a shot with a trash can lid and sets up the table in the corner. Brian Knobbs looks for the bulldog but Bigelow shoves him through the table. Bam Bam Bigelow hits Knobbs with trash can lids to the ears and hits Greetings from Asberry Park. Bigelow climbs to the top rope when he should really cover. He has a steel chair but he throws it at Finlay, who’s back at ringside.

  Brian Knobbs hits the ropes to knock Bam Bam Bigelow off balance and knocks him down to the floor. Knobbs hits Bam Bam Bigelow with a trash can lid and covers for the win.

WINNER: BRIAN KNOBBS (NEW WCW Hardcore Champion)

 . This match was mercifully short. They seemed to work well together but the story of the match made no sense. Fit Finlay helped Brian Knobbs when Brian Knobbs wanted to prove he could do it alone. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t supposed to be a mat classic, thankfully. [*½] 3/10
