Diamond Dallas Paige got the pin in the 9-man trios War Games match the previous month (Here) to earn this title shot, Goldberg won the WCW Championship beating Hollywood Hogan in the Georgia Dome on an edition of Nitro. Michael Buffer introduces DDP first, he makes his way from the entrance through the crowd and into the crowd. Goldberg chants begin before the music starts. He starts making his way through the backstage area and is announced at 154-0.

They stare down as the bell rings. They lock up and Goldberg shoves DDP back into the corner. DDP locks up with Goldberg again, taking him down with an arm drag. Goldberg charges into another lock-up and they tumble through the ropes.
The referee gets them back in the ring, DDP grabs a headlock but is taken down in a top wristlock. Goldberg avoids a trip but DDP gets it on the 2nd attempt. Goldberg kicks DDP in the ribs and slams him down into an armbar on the mat. Diamond Dallas Paige stuns Goldberg with a jawbreaker but the early Diamond Cutter attempt is countered with a simple shove to the floor. DDP takes a time-out and gets caught in a hammerlock back in the ring. DDP counters into one of his own and transitions it into a headlock. Goldberg sends DDP off the ropes and a shoulder tackle sends DDP back to the floor. DDP stuns Goldberg across the top rope and hits a neckbreaker. Godlberg gets sent into the corner, DDP hits a Russian leg sweep and covers for 2.
Diamond Dallas Paige works a front facelock, but Goldberg is able to fight out and he sends DDP to the mat. DDP is knocked down with a right hand, he swings and misses before Goldberg gets a kidney shot in. Goldberg takes DDP over with an underhook suplex, then sends him across the ring into a sidewalk slam for 2. Goldberg takes control of the arm, rolling through into an armbar, but DDP grabs the bottom rope. DDP counters another sidewalk slam into a headscissors but walks into a kick from Goldberg. Goldberg charges the corner but hits the ring post with the Spear and falls out of the ring. DDP gets to the top rope as Goldberg is back in the ring, Paige hits a flying clothesline but only gets 2. DDP is sent off the ropes, he hits a DDT and motions for the Diamond Cutter. GOLDBERG HITS A SPEAR! He ran through DDP with his bad shoulder and takes to 7 to get to his feet.
Goldberg
struggles to get DDP up for the Jackhammer, DDP slides out the back hitting the
Diamond Cutter! He crawls over slowly 1, 2, 2.99!! DDP tries to lift Goldberg
for a suplex but gets hit with a Jackhammer! 1, 2, 3!

This is what you would expect
for a Goldberg match. DDP was able to add some drama with his intensity. Some say Goldberg’s Streak should have ended here. It wasn’t a
classic but the crowd were into everything they did and they bought into Paige
winning the WCW Championship throughout the match. [**½] 5.5/10
