Alexa Bliss makes her way out, she’s jealous of the attention that Ronda Rousey is getting and thinks she deserves a mural like Rousey has. There was a pause before Rousey’s music hits and the crowd pops as he marches to the ring. We get in-ring introductions in a nice touch
Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman, and Corey Graves are on

RONDA ROUSEY
(Raw Women’s Championship)
WWE Summerslam 2018 (19th August 2018)
Alexa Bliss backs to the ropes before Rousey
can touch her, the champion tries to get in a cheap shot but Ronda Rousey
blocks it and knocks Bliss out of the ring with a right hand of her own. At
that point I’d take the count-out and get out of there, but Bliss is back in
the ring only to break the count. Ronda Rousey turns her back to Alexa and sits
on the mat, which brings Alexa Bliss back in, she puts a sleeper hold on
Rousey and the challenger gets to her feet, breaking the hold and lifting Bliss
into a fireman’s carry before driving her into the mat. Bliss is back to the
outside and Ronda gives chase, Alexa is the first back in the ring connecting
with a kick to the shoulder and a forearm shot. Ronda Rousey just looks pissed
off and catches the next kick, sending Bliss flipping to the mat like an
assisted moonsault. Rousey connects with punches in the corner and sends Bliss
over with judo throws. Rousey sends Bliss to the mat again and takes control of
the arm. Ronda Rousey bends Bliss’ arm back into unnatural positions and
connects with an elbow to the bicep before locking in the Armbar to win the
match.
WINNER: RONDA ROUSEY (NEW Raw
Women’s Champion)
This was a slightly extended squash for Ronda Rousey. She was shown as a big player in her rookie year, as she should be with her accolades and this helped to legitimise her within WWE in that time frame. It was also interesting seeing Rousey use crowd work in wrestling. [**] 3/10
