JAMIE NOBLE (C) VS. BILLY KIDMAN

Before the mach, Eric Bischoff is shown backstage with Jonathan Coachman. He was impressed with the opener with 4 Raw superstars. He says he’s going to sign Triple H and goes off to find him. Triple H is just arriving at Stephanie McMahon’s office, he says Eric got a chance to give a sales pitch and now Stephanie will get to. Eric is upset that Triple H is negotiating with both brands.

Jamie Noble makes his way out first with Nidia and we see him attack Kidman after a victory over Tajiri the previous Thursday on Smackdown. Jamie Noble hit a damn powerbomb on Billy Kidman!?

Michael Cole and Tazz are on commentary for this match.

Jamie Noble reverses the irish whip sending Kidman into the corner but is backdropped to the apron. Noble connects with a shoulder thrust through the ropes but is leg dropped across the middle rope. Tazz compares it to WCW’s cruiserweight matches and that’s because they were in the WCW Cruiserweight division for the last year,  longer for Kidman.

Jamie Noble lifts Kidman onto his shoulder and sends Kidman’s shoulder into the ring post. Back in the ring, Noble hits a Northern Lights suplex for 2 before putting Kidman in a wristlock on the mat. Noble sends Kidman back in the ring and puts him in an armbar on the mat. Kidman fights to his feet, Noble tries to put him in a hammerlock but Kidman fights out of that too, trying to keep his left arm away from Noble. Kidman clotheslines Noble down.   Jamie Noble rolls up Kidman with a cradle for 2. They fight for a waistlock until Jamie Noble hits the Tiger Bomb for 3.

WINNER: JAMIE NOBLE (STILL WWE Cruiserweight Champion)

This was a good match, Noble’s arm work came into play and it worked toward’s Kidman’s wrestling style. I’d have saved the BK Bomb for Kidman’s win at Survivor Series (here) but there’s not much to complain about with the match. [**½] 5/10
