BIG SHOW (C) VS. BIG BOSSMAN

Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match.

Big Bossman enters first, this was Big Show’s first feud as WWF Champion, so it naturally revolved round his kayfabe dead father. Big Bossman is the current WWF Hardcore Champion and has Prince Albert in his… Corner. Bossman has the microphone. He says it’s funny that Show’s dead is in Hell. Big Show keeps crying about his daddy, which Bossman says could really be anyone in the arena, Big Show makes his way out and he looks as happy as you would expect following that promo. The Fink is our ring announcer.

WWF Armageddon 1999 (12th December 1999)

The bell rings as Big Show shoves Bossman into the corner.

Big Show with kicks to the midsection before Bossman is launched into the turnbuckles. Big Bossman is sent back the other way and Big Show follows with a clothesline. Big Show hip tosses Bossman across the ring and knocks him down before throwing him through the ropes. Big Show headbutts Bossman, Prince Albert attacks him from behind but gets Chokeslammed through the announce table. He was no use to his other team member? Big Bossman knocks Show down with the ring steps, taking advantage of the distraction and lays in boots and right hands as Big Show gets to his feet. Big Bossman has to break the referee’s count, Big Show blocks a shot as Bossman returns and lifts Bossman on his shoulder. Big Bossman sends Big Show into the ring post. Big Bossman struggles getting Big Show in the ring as the crowd chant “boring” it’s difficult to argue. Finally, Big Bossman covers Big Show away from the ropes but Big Show powers out. He kips up to his feet a la Shawn Michaels!

Big Bossman is sent off the ropes into a kick, Big Show calls for the Chokeslam and hits it for the win.

WINNER: BIG SHOW (STILL WWF Champion)

This was a nothing match. It made Big Show look like a dominant champion for his first PPV defense, but only because Triple H and McMahon had the main event. The feud meant nothing, even with the father’s funeral stuff. It was a month of entertaining television but they didn’t make it feel important. [*¾] 2/10
