Before the match, Leslie Nielson is shown backstage looking for The Undertaker. He’s mistaken for other actors by event staff before being left alone. He thinks he sees Taker, but it’s his Naked Gun co-star, instead. They split up to look for him, with Nielson going the right way if signs are to be believed. Bull Nakano enters first, accompanied by Luna Vachon. She has a set of nunchucks with her and what would in later years be known in the UK as Jedward hair. Alundra Blayze makes her way out and if you didn’t know, she’s been in these reviews before as Madusa. She gets a good reaction from the crowd as she holds the championship up. McMahon reminds us the last match between these two went to a double count-out as they both receive bunches of flowers. Luna throws Bull’s flowers at Blayze before the match.
Vince McMahon and Jerry “The King” Lawler are
on commentary for this match.

VS. BULL NAKANO
(WWF Women’s
Championship)
WWF SummerSlam 1994 (29th August 1994)
The bell rings and it wasn’t even a chance for Nakano to jump the champion at the bell, it was just Luna being Luna.
Bull Nakano asks for a handshake before kicking Blayze in the midsection and sending her into the corner. Nakano knocks Blayze down with a clothesline, Alundra Blayze is able to avoid the powerbomb, she hits a running dropkick but Nakano sidesteps the second attempt. Nakano sends Blayze across the ring by her hair, and back again. Alundra Blayze’s head is sent into the mat but she fights to her feet, Bull Nakano brings her back and levels her with a clothesline, following with a legdrop for a nearfall. Bull Nakano works a chinlock on the mat as Blayze tries to reach the rope with her feet. Bull Nakano bends Blayze around the ropes, using the count and sends her across the ring as the fans chant “USA!” She puts her foot over Blayze but can’t get the 3 count. Alundra Blayze is sent off the ropes but she takes Nakano down with a hurricanrana for a nearfall. Alundra Blayze connects with a spinning kick, Nakano is sent off the ropes and she ducks the second attempt, lifting Alundra in a choke before slamming her to the mat. Bull Nakano uses her shin to choke Blayze on the mat and puts the champion into a boston crab, keeping Blayze in the hold with one arm.
Alundra Blayze crawls to the bottom rope and elbows Nakano in the kidneys. She breaks the hold but Bull Nakano keeps up the assault with clubs to the back and a bow and arrow submission hold, pulling on Alundra Blayze’s hair. Bull Nakano breaks the illegal hold, moving Blayze over to the ropes for another one, choking her over the top rope. Luna Vachon chokes Blayze more as Nakano has the referee’s attention. Alundra Blayze’s neck is snapped off the top rope but she’s able to roll Bull Nakano up! 1, 2, no! Nakano transitions into an armbar, Blayze tries to roll through and does getting a 2 count on Nakano. Luna shouts at a camera man as Alundra Blayze is let to her feet. Nakano sends her across the ring but is dropped by what I’d call a slingblade. Alundra Blayze hits a couple more running attacks and covers but only gets 2. She sets Nakano up for a powerbomb or a piledriver, but it doesn’t matter as she’s backdropped anyway. Bull Nakano slams Alundra Blayze for 2. Alundra Blayze misses a clothesline in a rough looking spot, Bull Nakano connects with hers and gets a nearfall. She sends Blayze into the corner, but Blayze climbs the turnbuckles and jumps over Nakano into a backslide for 2. Nakano counters a hurricanrana into a powerbomb for a nearfall.
Bull Nakano slams Alundra Blayze and climbs to the top rope. Alundra Blayze rolls out of the way of the leg drop and hits the bridging german suplex! 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: ALUNDRA BLAYZE (STILL WWF Women’s Champion)
This was a good match, but didn’t get out of second gear. Nakano and Blayze worked well together and only had the one mis-step but they seemed to be holding back in the match. It will be disappointing if you’ve heard of the skills of these two, but it was a decent taster if you can’t find anything else. I’ll always pop for a bridging german suplex though. [**] 3.5/10
