The introduction video runs down the card, which calls this match a Windy City Street Fight although we’re in Florida. Tony Schiovane Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Dusty Rhodes are on commentary for this match. Public Enemy make their way out first, followed by the Nasty Boys. Both teams get positive reactions.
NASTY BOYS VS.
PUBLIC ENEMY
(Falls Count

WCW Superbrawl VI (11th February 1996)
They pair off to begin, exchanging right hands. Johnny Grunge sends Knobbs out to the floor before dancing. Jerry Sags is sent through the ropes on the other side. I think Brian Knobbs threw a drink into Grunge’s face as he was on his way down from the apron, Grunge is posted and sent into the ring as Rocco Rock brings a concession table over to the action. Which to be honest is a nice change from brawling over to them. Jerry Sags is on the entranceway to meet him with a steel chair, laying into Rock on the floor. Rocco Rock is sent into the side of the table and then Sags clocks Johnny Grunge with the chair too. Sags leaves the chair behind so Johnny Grunge brings it along, hitting Sags across the back and on the top of his head as Rocco Rock goes back to his fetching quest. He brawls with Knobbs across the table and it looks cleaner than the double clothesline knocking down both Sags and Grunge on the entranceway. Brian Knobbs is sent into the ring post and set up across the table, but Rocco Rock celebrates and is sent through the table. Knobs covers but it’s broken up with a Grunge chairshot. Jerry Sags brings a trash can to the ring, or as Brain calls it “his lunch pail” Jerry Sags beats Grunge back to the ring, hitting him with the trash can lid as Rocco Rock has been sent into the guard rail. Brian Knobbs picks up a piece of the table and runs it into Rocco Rock as Sags continues to make scrap metal out of the trash can lid.
Rocco Rock is hit with another trash can lid shot as he gets in the ring, landing perfectly in the middle as Grunge seems to have the advantage on the floor, bringing Knobbs towards the tunnels. Brian Knobbs cuts him off with a kick as Jerry Sags positions the trash can in the ring. He hits a piledriver as Knobbs misses with the chair. Grunge starts swinging at Knobbs with a chair as Sags covers, Rock gets his foot on the rope which for some reason counts in a Street Fight. Johnny Grunge brings Knobbs towards the concession stand and they fight near the other table as Rock gets to plant the trash can lid into Sags’ head for a bit. Brian Knobbs hits a suplex to Grunge through the table as Rocco Rock and Jerry Sags make their way towards them. Brian Knobbs covers but there’s no referee to make the count. Knobbs eats a shot from the trash can lid from Grunge, Rocco Rock hits Sags with a chair. Johnny Grunge hits a bulldog to Jerry Sags on the set up chair but Rocco Rock is hammered with trash can lid shots. Brian Knobbs starts wailing at Rocco Rock with a chair, Johnny Grunge throws a trash can at Jerry Sags and to be honest I may be getting the names wrong as I try to type up the chaos.
Johnny Grunge lays into Sags with the trash can lid, which I’m now convinced is indestructible, and Brian Knobbs suplexes a table that isn’t broken yet onto Rocco Rock. Public Enemy double-team Sags with weapons and Rocco Rock hits a bulldog. Brian Knobbs is set up on the table but moves out of the way of Rocco Rock’s somersault senton. Jerry Sags attacked Grunge from behind as Brian Knobbs hits a piece of the table into Rocco Rock for the win.
WINNERS: NASTY BOYS
This was a short, fun brawl, but nothing had time to
breathe or mean anything. There were a lot of headshots for nothing, and it was
honestly disappointing. I didn’t expect an amazing match buth this match just
seemed like (or rather, was) a series of weapon shots with sprinkles of a
wrestling match just to warm you up for the event. It was a strange choice to
start the night’s show. [*½] 3/10
