VICTORIA (C) VS. JAZZ VS. TRISH STRATUS

 Trish Stratus makes her way out first, followed by Jazz. The entrances are so long in Safeco Field they cut at the bottom of the walkway. Victoria makes her way down with Steven Richards, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match. JR says Freud would struggle to understand the two as a couple.

 

VICTORIA VS. TRISH STRATUS VS. JAZZ

Jazz sends Victoria and Steven Richards out of the ring to kickstart the match and dropkicks Trish for a nearfall. Jazz puts Trish in a front facelock and bridges over, which JR calls a “modified camel clutch” she breaks to knock Victoria back off the apron, but is cut off by a Lou Thesz press from Trish Stratus. Trish connects with right hands but is sent into the corner, Trish gets her boot up and goes out to the apron, Victoria pulls Trish to the floor and takes a shot at Jazz. She gets in the ring and sends Jazz to the outside, so a brawl starts between the challengers. Victoria joins the fray and brings Trish into the ring. Victoria hits a slingshot somersault legdrop but pins too close to the ropes as Jazz pulls her to the floor. Jazz hits her own leg drop and it’s Victoria’s turn to break the cover. Jazz and Victoria work together with a double shoulder breaker, Jazz breaks up the partnership early but is sent off the ropes into a powerslam for 2.

  Victoria backs Jazz into the corner and drives her shoulder into Jazz’s midsection, she shouts that Jazz won’t get the title but forgets about Trish who rolls her up for a nearfall. Victoria kicks Trish, knocking her down, Trish is sent across the ring but she kicks Victoria in the midsection and knocks her down with a clothesline. Trish connects with right hands but Jazz cuts her off with a European uppercut to the back. Jazz hits a sitout powerslam on Trish, but Victoria gets back into the match. She shoves Jazz but is choked in the corner. Trish Stratus starts using them against each other, knocking their heads and lays in forearms. Victoria grabs Trish from behind, holding her as Jazz kicks, but Trish moves out of the way. She rolls Jazz up but only gets a nearfall, another roll up for another nearfall. Trish Stratus hits the Chick Kick on Jazz and covers 1, 2, Victoria breaks it up but gets sent into the corner. Trish runs into Victoria’s knee, Victoria climbs to the middle rope but is brought down in an amazing headscissors.

  Trish knocks Victoria back into the ropes as Jazz starts to stir, Trish is able to fight them both off, she kicks Victoria in the midsection sending her through the ropes to the floor. That looked rough. Jazz catches a kick attempt and puts Trish Stratus in the single-leg boston crab. Trish Stratus starts crawling most of the way across the ring, and Jazz transitions into an STF. Victoria distracts the referee as Steven Richards breaks it up, saving the title. Trish rolls Victoria up and gets a nearfall, Victoria reverses for one of her own as Trish kicks out. Jazz knocks Victoria down with a clothesline and lifts Trish off the mat in a chickenwing, but walks into a kick to the jaw from Victoria. Jazz rolls out of the way of the moonsault. Victoria gets to hr feet near the ropes and is able to backdrop Jazz over to the floor. Trish Stratus sets up for the chick Kick, Steven Richards runs into the ring with a chair but he bounces it off the top rope into his own head! Trish hits Stratusfaction on Steven Richards, Victoria sets up the Widow’s Peak but Trish fights it off. Victoria kicks Trish in the midsection but runs into the Chick Kick, Trish covers for the win.

WINNER: TRISH STRATUS (NEW WWE Women’s Champion)

This was a pretty good match for the time they were given. Steven Richards did enough to be there for a reason but didn’t ruin the match, and the chair spot was OK, but on a loaded card. The match itself was basic but all three of them work well and they all got time to shine. [1½]  2/10
