KINTARO KANEMURA VS. BALLS MAHONEY

Kintaro Kanemura is one of the many FMW exports that showed up through ECW’s run. He’s the FMW Hardcore Champion at this time, defending it against Balls Mahoney at FMW’s 10th Anniversary Show the previous November. Joey Styles and Cyrus the Virus are on commentary for this match.

BALLS MAHONEY VS. KINTARO KANEMURA

ECW Living Dangerously 2000 (12th March 2000)

There are no entrances here, but they get introduced in the ring as Joey Styles puts over, I guess, their psychopathic tendencies with deathmatch wrestling. Kintaro Kanemura gets the first shot with a kick to the midsection, he drapes Balls across the ropes and hits the sitting attack I never have a name for. He hits a dropkick on the apron and a slingshot press back into the ring gets him a nearfall. Kanemura slams Balls Mahoney down and hits a top rope senton, but still only gets 2. Balls Mahoney starts to get fired up, he eats a right hand but hits the Ball Breaker (a sitout spinebuster) and a frog splash for a nearfall (although my WWE Network buffered throughout). Balls Mahoney goes back to the top rope but Kanemura cuts him off , flips off the fans and hits a superplex. Kanemura grabs the chair and hits Mahoney right in the cranium, but Balls Mahoney flips him off. He ducks another chair shot and clotheslines Kintaro Kanemura down. Balls Mahoney hits the Nutcracker Suite (a Michinoku Driver II) on the chair, he hooks Kanemura’s leg and gets the win.

WINNER: BALLS MAHONEY

Obviously not much of a match, but they each got a few seconds to shine. I question the decision of flying Kintaro Kanemura  over for this match, but it was a decent enough, if overly brief, introduction to him. 1/10

After the match, Da Baldies run into the ring and attack Balls Mahoney, but Natural Born Killaz plays and you know what that means! NEW JACK IS HERE! He runs out to save Mahoney, leading to the next match.
