Vince McMahon and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match. Owen Hart enters the match first, accompanied by Jim Cornette. Diesel makes his way out and McMahon says his fans are identifiable by the black gloves.
OWEN HART VS. DIESEL
WWF In Your House 5 (17th December 1995)
The bell rings and Owen tries to play keep-away but backs
himself into a corner. Diesel stops him from passing and shoves Owen back, then
squashes him into the turnbuckles with a back elbow and knee lifts. Owen is thrown
across the ring, then makes the return trip before walking into a sidewalk slam.
Owen Hart is able to catch himself before he hits the turnbuckles, floating
over Diesel. He attacks with right hands. Owen Hart starts some corner punches
but is piefaced back to the centre of the ring. Diesel clotheslines Owen over
to the floor and brings him back into the ring, before lifting Owen by the
hair. Owen Hart ducks under a big boot, he hits a spinning heel kick, before
going to the top rope. Diesel is knocked down with a missile dropkick and Owen
Hart starts attacking Diesel’s legs, hyperextending the hamstring and hitting a
legdrop. Diesel makes it to his feet in the corner, but Owen keeps targeting the
left knee, wrapping it around the ropes before kicking the back of Diesel’s leg.
Diesel gets some respite with a right hand but walks into an enziguri, Owen
Hart covers but is thrown off at 2. Owen Hart brings Diesel to his feet and
kicks at the knee again, Diesel kicks Owen off a spinning toehold attempt,
sending his shoulder into the ring post and follows with the Snake Eyes. Owen
is slumped over the middle rope as Diesel cannonballs him. Diesel sends Oven
Hart off the ropes into a big boot and says “this is for you Shawn” before
hitting a Jackknife Powerbomb. He places his foot over Owen Hart’s chest but breaks
the cover at 2. He shoves the referee away, who was telling him to just win the
match and gets disqualified before hitting a second Jackknife, also for Shawn Michaels.
WINNER: OWEN HART
(Disqualification)
This was a short basic match, Owen had taken out Shawn
Michaels just before and Diesel was just looking for revenge. It was a decent
story, didn’t last too long but it could have been used for Raw. [*½] 2/10.
