TYSON TOMKO VS. STEVIE RICHARDS

 

Where were we? Oh yeah, Tyson Tomko was attacked from behind by a “Mystery Woman”  in the ring. Victoria was saved and the woman hits a DDT on Tomko, we go back to Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary, who talk about the fate of the Women’s and Intercontinental Championships. Tyson Tomko calls out the mystery woman and they return. Which in wrestling logic means a match is beginning.

 

TYSON TOMKO VS. STEVEN RICHARDS

WWE Unforgiven 2004 (12^th September 2004)

   The bell rings and the mystery woman slaps Tomko, but is decked with a punch to the jaw. Tyson Tomko kicks them in the ribs and rips the cardigan off, the wig falls off too and we can see who’s covering their face. Tomko with another right hand. Off come the skirt and blouse, whilst commentary can’t tell if it’s a woman, but I can recognise Stevie Richards’ voice. Tomko puts him in an arm bar on the mat, then stuffs some padding into his mouth from the bra. Tyson Tomko puts the wig back on Richards and I promise next month will be all serious matches, I need a month off this kind of crap. Tomko chokes Richards and follows with mounted rights, then rips the bra off. Seriously what kind of people will end up finding this? Richards is decked with another right hand as we all live through the referee begging Tomko to end the match. Tomko hits Richards with another right hand instead and chokes Richards on the middle rope, using most of the 5 count. Tomko kicks Richards in the ribs then chokes him with a boot, using the count again and the ropes for leverage. Tomko forces Richards into the corner after some trash talk, then chokes him like he’s been binge-watching Nailz entire career. Stevie Richards gets a couple of shots in, but Tomko pulls out a front facelock! Tomko lifts Richards for a slam and throws him across the ring. Richards is put in a neck crank but he fights to his feet, he connects with a back elbow but Tomko puts him down with a right hand. Tomko sends Stevie Richards back into the ropes with right hands, but he keeps coming back for more, shouting at Tomko. After more than enough shots Richards starts fighting back but is brought to his knees with the clubbing blows. Tomko slaps Richards across the head  I wonder why the hell this is a thing instead of the time being given to Trish Stratus and Victoria earlier. Stevie Richards puts the testicular claw on Tomko and sends him into the middle turnbuckle. The crowd seems pretty loud for it but I’m really hating this, if you can’t tell. Stevie Richards hits Tomko with clubbing blows in the corner but Tomko shoves him away. Richards is back, jumping at Tomko with right hands in the corner. Tyson Tomko shoves him out of the corner again, but Richards charges at him with a running dropkick, then another and hits Tomko with a flurry of right hands, Tomko shoves him for what feels like the 8^th run and Stevie Richards turns his attention to the remains of his bra. Tyson Tomko attacks from behind and puts Richards in a Torture Rack, then slams him down for the long-awaited end of the match.

WINNER: TYSON TOMKO

This match was waaay too long. It could have been a quick reveal and beat down from Tomko, Nothing looked fantastic and it exposed Tyson Tomko, although Richards did bounce off him as well as he could. [*¾] 2/10.
