 The Hart Foundation are already in the ring as Demolition make their way out.

Ax and Smash are representing Demolition, with Mr. Fuji andJimmy Hart at ringside. Gorilla Monsoon and Billy Graham are on commentary for this match.

   Bret Hart starts and locks up with Ax. Hart is shoved to the ground, Ax hits a knee to the gut and repeated ax handles to Bret, who goes down to a scoop slam but avoids the elbow drop. Bret Hart fights back with right hands and stuns Smash on the apron and sends Ax off into a right hand to the midsection and he rolls Ax up for a 2 count. Smash tags in and runs into an arm drag, then another from Bret who tags in Neidhart. Jim Neidhart hits an axhandle off the middle rope, he ducks under a shot from Smash and knocks him down, Neidhart with some right hands on the mat, he gets sent off the ropes but knocks Smash down with a shoulder tackle. Ax gets a cheap shot from the apron and gets tagged into the match. He hits some ax handles and tags back out as Neidhart is isolated in the champions’ corner. Ax sends Jim Neidhart off the ropes but ducks too early. Bret Hart gets the tag and knocks Ax out of the ring, bringing in Smash. Bret hits a dropkick and tries to send Smash from corner to corner but it’s reversed sending Bret Hart’s shoulder into the ring post. Jim Neidhart chases Jimmy Hart to the back as Ax gets the tag and starts working Hart’s shoulder on the top rope. Bret’s right arm is trapped in the ropes and Demolition target it. The referee counts to 5 but doesn’t disqualify the champions. Ax sends Bret Hart’s shoulder into the turnbuckle, then sends him into Smash’s boot before tagging out.

  Smash hits  a shoulder breaker and they carry on the work to Bret’s right arm using the ropes, Ax kicks Bret out of the ring and Smash sends his shoulder into the ring post before tagging himself into the match. Ax boots Bret from the apron, Smash helps him back in the ring and knocks him down, another tag from Demolition and Ax sends Bret Hart across the ring. Bret knocks him down with a clothesline but he had to use the injured shoulder! Smash distracts the referee so he misses a Hart Foundation tag, bringing himself into the match as the referee is busy with Neidhart. Bret Hart is sent into the turnbuckles but he gets his knees up and stuns Smash. Jim Neidhart gets the tag. Ax tries to interfere but is cut off with a dropkick, Smash is slammed, then Ax. Demolition collide sending Ax out of the ring, Neidhart sends Smash to the floor with another shot. Bret assists with a slingshot on to Smash on the floor. Jim Neidhart hits a powerslam back in the ring for a nearfall. Bret Hart gets the tag and sends his own partner into Smash in the corner with a shoulder tackle, Bret covers but only gets 2 as we see Ax make his way back to the apron. Bret Hart hits the backbreaker and covers but Ax breaks it up and brings in Neidhart who beats him down in the corner. Mr. Fuji is on the apron, so he gets some shots from the Anvil, bringing a pop from the crowd. Bret has Smash in the Piledriver but Ax has the megaphone and hits Bret with it from behind, Smash covers and Demolition retain!

WINNERS: DEMOLITION (STILL WWF Tag Team Champions)

 

This was a really good tag match, Bret Hart took a good heat segment and he didn’t forget to sell it down the line, Neidhart was able to match strength with both members of Demolition but the numbers got the best of the Hart Foundation. [***] 6/10.
