UMAGA VS. EUGENE

 

 

  Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary for this match. Umaga makes his way to the ring first with Armando Alejandro Estrada, who introduces himself and Umaga. He mocks the rumor of Eugene having back up, calling them imaginary friends before putting Umaga over. Eugene makes his way out and beckons to backstage. Jim Duggan’s music hits, and he joins Eugene, followed by Doink the Clown and finally Kamala.

  The bell rings and Jim Duggan gets a USA chant going from ringside. Doink squirts Umaga with a water pistol, allowing Eugene to strike first with clubbing blows. Umaga shrugs him off and runs through Eugene for a clothesline. He kicks Eugene whilst he’s down and sends him into the ropes, Umaga ducks early, Eugene kicks him but all it does is bring them face to face, Eugene ducks under a chop and connects with rights and lefts until Umaga cuts him off with an uppercut. Umaga kicks at Eugene again, who crawls to the corner. Umaga crushes him with the Hip attack and finishes it with the Samoan Spike.

WINNER: UMAGA

It was a squash match to make Umaga look like a monster. It served its purpose, but it's still difficult to justify giving pay-per-view time to.. – As a match, it's ½* but personally, I'd rate it 1/10

After the match, Umaga takes Eugene over to the corner, Jim Duggan tries to make the save, but the crowd rats him out, allowing Umaga to cut him off. Doink the Clown attacks from behind but gets knocked down with a back elbow. Umaga brings Doink to his feet and hits the Samoan Spike, drawing Kamala into the ring. Estrada walks his monster to the back before they make contact. I really hope that isn't our Summerslam main event.
