BILLY KIDMAN VS. DEAN MALENKO

Tony Schiovane, Mike Tenay and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan are on commentary tonight. They begin running down the card, then we cut to Tony's attempt to get an interview with Vampiro earlier tonight. It was interrupted by David Flair and Crowbar, who attacked Vamps.

Billy Kidman enters the match first, he'll be facing Perry Saturn in a Bunkhouse match and a mystery opponent in a Caged Heat match later tonight. .

BILLY KIDMAN VS DEAN MALENKO

(Catch as Catch-Can - Triple Threat Theater #1)

WCW Souled Out 2000 (16th January 2000)

They lock up and Dean Malenko backs Kidman into the corner. He backs away, allowing Kidman out of the corner, they lock up and Malenko gets a headlock, Billy Kidman backs into the ropes and sends Malenko across the ring but Malenko drops him with a shoulder tackle. Another lock up, but Malenko is quick to take Kidman down with a drop toe hold, transitioning into a front facelock but allowing Kidman to his feet. Billy Kidman backs Malenko into the corner, Malenko leans through the ropes, forcing the break. So far all commentary has done is talk about how you can't leave the ring in the match. Malenko gets Kidman into an arm wringer and takes him down, applying a figure four on the neck as he has Kidman in the armbar. Billy Kidman keeps his shoulder off the ground, he tries to bridge out but Malenko brings him back down. Billy Kidman is able to kip up to his feet out of the move! That was amazing, he goes after Malenko with lefts and rights, forcing him into a corner, Malenko leans out of the ring again so Charles Robinson has to back Kidman away. Dean Malenko kicks Kidman in the gut but is sent across the ring, he holds on to the top rope and Kidman eats shit on a dropkick attempt. Malenko tries to roll Kidman up with a jackknife, but Kidman rolls through, mounted rights and Malenko scrambles away and under the bottom rope, walking towards the back. There's a long awkward pause before Malenko comes back to the ring and Billy Kidman is announced the winner.

WINNER: BILLY KIDMAN

This was a decent little match before the botched finish. But unfortunately too short to really be anything..– As a match it's stars, but personally I'd rate it /10
