Before the match, Steve Austin is backstage with an interviewer called Lucas, he says he's not going to tell us who the Higher Power is and he doesn't think the Higher Power is here anyway. In real-time people waited through the commercial break for that interview. Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly are on commentary, Chyna makes her way out first with Triple H, who he gave his spot in the tournament to her. We see Chyna and Triple H attacking Mankind on the previous Raw. Val Venis makes his way to the ring with Nicole Bass. They had some tension last Monday.
VAL VENIS VS. CHYNA
WWF Heat (6th June 1999)
Chyna attacks Venis before we can find out what he has in common with her thong. That's one way I never thought I'd start one of these... Val doesn't get in a single bit of offense as he's sent into the corner and Chyna kicks him, right hands by Chyna before she goes back to kicks to the midsection. Val Venis reverses an irish whip, sending Chyna into the corner but can't put his hands on her. He finally charges at the corner but eats shit as Chyna moves out of the way, hitting Venis with a powerslam and pausing before she covers, getting her a nearfall. Val Venis counters a Pedigree and catapults Chyna into Earl Hebner in the worst ref bump I remember seeing. Triple H trips Venis from ringside, bringing Bass up to the apron. Chyna knocks Bass down but Venis takes advantage of the distraction hitting the bridging fisherman suplex! Triple H gets in the ring and stomps on Val's groin allowing Chyna to get up and hit the Pedigree for the win with a slow count.
WINNER: CHYNA
This match had more of a story than the rest of the qualifiers, but that isn't saying much. It was short, the finish added to the Venis/Bass break up and it wasn't horrible besides the referee bump.– As a match it's ½* but personally I'd rate it 1.25/10
After the match, Val Venis and Triple H brawl, drawing out referees (including Teddy Long) Commissioner Slaughter and finally Stone Cold, he hits Stunners on everyone except Tim White, who completely fucks it up.
