WWF In Your House: It's Time (15th December 1996)
Bret Hart attacks from behind, right hands and boots to Sid in the corner, Bret headbutts Sid and sends his head into the turnbuckle.”Sycho” Sid reverses the irish whip, Bret stumbles out into a clothesline and Sid starts laying in the boots. Sid scoop slams Bret, a running boots sets Bret up for Sid to cave his chest in with his boot. Sid ducks early after sending Bret off the ropes, Bret rakes the eyes and scrapes them across the top rope as King questions why he's brawling Sid. Sid is snapmared over, he hits a front elbow drop and a headbutt to the midsection of Sid. Sid blocks a right hand and starts firing back. Bret Hart decides to go to ringside, but Sid chases him. Sid brings Bret back under the bottom rope and shouts at a ringside fan. More strikes from “Sycho” Sid before he sends Bret back in the ring. Bret is able to cut him off and again rakes the eyes. Bret headbutts Sid, backing him into the ropes. He hits him with rights until Sid sends him over the top to the floor.
Sid follows and sends Bret Hart into the guard rail, he pulls up some of the crash mats, but Bret counters the powerbomb, sending Sid's spine into the ring post, even picking him up for the third hit. Bret Hart brings it back in the ring and hits an elbow drop from the middle rope to Sid's back. He targets the lower back with strikes until Earl Hebner backs him off. He hits a backbreaker on Sid as we have a split-screen so we can see Shawn Michaels talk. Bret Hart with more elbow drops and he puts a chinlock on “Sycho” Sid, driving his knee into Sid's back. He headbutt's Sid in the lower back and sends him from corner to corner. Another right hand from Bret before he snapmares Sid over again. Bret hits a legdrop and drives his knee into Sid's back, then back to the chinlock whilst on his back. Another elbow drop from Bret, he headbutts Sid back into the corner, followed by boots and the choke. Earl Hebner asks Bret what he's getting the family for Christmas, but Bret Hart walks off because it would take too long. He takes the top turnbuckle pad off as the referee talks to Sid.
“Sycho” Sid is able to stop his head meeting the turnbuckle, so Bret goes back to the kidney area, he hits a back suplex on Sid, followed by a Russian leg sweep for a nearfall each. Bret hits a suplex, then goes to the middle rope and hits another elbow drop to the back, 1, 2, Sid kicks out again. Bret Hart goes to the top rope but Sid cuts him off, Sid sends Bret across the ring. Bret Hart is sent off the ropes into a big boot. Sid sends him off again, sending him dowin with a powerslam and covering for 2. Bret Hart is decapitated with a short-arm clothesline and kicks out at 2. Sid hits the ropes but misses the leg drop. Bret Hart tries to put on the Sharpshooter but Sid is able to kick him away, sending Bret out of the ring. Steve Austin runs down and hits Bret's knee with a chop block, but he is chased off by British Bulldog and Owen Hart. Bret beats the count on one leg and Sid looks on confused before going back on the attack. He beats Bret down and stomps him on the mat, then Sid lifts Bret onto one shoulder. Bret slides off and it looks like he was supposed to send Sid into the corner but they fall over each other.
They go again, Bret slips out the back and Sid ducks before Bret Hart can shove him into the corner, sending Bret into the exposed turnbuckle. Sid waits a good 10 seconds before hitting Bret with a chokeslam, he covers but Bret kicks out at 2. Sid argues with the referee about the count as Bret gets to his feet, Bret Hart ducks a clothesline and sends himself and Sid over the top rope to the floor with one of his own. Shawn Michaels gives Bret his chair, but Sid is able to cut him off before it gets used. He pie faces Shawn and sends Bret back into the ring. Shawn Michaels leaves commentary, jumping on the apron but Bret is whipped into him. Sid hits the Powerbomb for the win.
WINNER: “SYCHO” SID (STILL WWF Champion)
This was as good of a match as you would expect..Bret Hart was able to work around Sid, Sid was able to look big and except the botch with the turnbuckle this was a good match, even if the Michaels involvement wasn't really needed.– As a match it's ** ¾ but personally I'd rate it 5/10
