DAVID FLAIR (C) VS. DEAN MALENKO

Tony Schiovane and Bobby Heenan are on commentary for this match. The challenger enters first, David is doing his best “Daddy Ric” impression at this time. Speaking of, Ric Flair is at ringside with Arn Anderson, Charles Robinson and Torrie Wilson in David's corner.

The bell rings and they lock up for a split-second before Dean Malenko shoves Flair down. Another lock-up, Malenko gets a headlock and trips David Flair, David Flair gets a waistlock as Schiovane mentions he's had no offense in his matches. Malenko sends him straight down and carries on talking to the relevant member of the Flair family. David shoves Malenko but is sent into the corner, Malenko kicks at Flair until he's slumped in the corner, Ric gets on the apron as David is sent across the ring, Malenko follows with a clothesline and hits David with a suplex as Naitch gets back in the ring. Malenko drops him as Arn Anderson attacks the referee from behind. Anderson sends the referee off the ropes into a spinebuster that we don't see as Dean Malenko puts the Texas Cloverleaf on Flair Jr. Robinson takes the referee shirt, Asya enters the ring and is put in the Texas Cloverleaf too, Ric hits Malenko with the title belt from behind, drapes David over Malenko as Robinson counts the three.

WINNER: DAVID FLAIR (STILL WCW United States Champion)

So, what was that then? .– As a match it's not worth rating so zeroes all around here..
