Disco Inferno is backstage with Mike Tenay before the match. The microphone is going in and out but the gist is about his money owed to Johnny Stamboli and Vito. He says he respects the title and tries to get an appraisal from Tenay on the belt. He's attacked by Jeff Jarrett and Creative Control. Evan Karagias enters first, holding hands with Madusa. Disco's music plays and he's shown in the back with Tony Marinaro (future Mamaluke) who “helps” him out to the ring. Evan Karagias meets him on the entranceway, bringing him back into the ring.

WCW Mayhem 1999 (21st November 1999)
The bell rings whilst they're on the floor, but if a blog about a fake sport can't have consistent rules then what kind of world do we live in!? Karagias sends Disco off the ropes into a dropkick. Tony Marinaro joins Bobby Heenan and Schiovane on commentary as Karagias rolls Disco up for nearfalls. Disco Inferno pokes the eye and kicks Karagias in the midsection. Disco gets a headlock, Karagias sends him off the ropes but is sent down with a shoulder tackle. He goes prone then leapfrogs, another leapfrog as Disco runs from behind again, off the ropes into a hip toss into a nearfall by Karagias. Schiovane asks Marinaro if Disco Inferno's life is on the line. Marinaro sketchy over the answer so yes. Evan Karagias hits a suplex and a springboard forearm (credit to Disco on the sell for the forearm too) for a nearfall. Karagias takes Disco down with a headscissors, the second attempt is countered as Karagias is hung over the top rope. Disco Inferno sends Karagias into the turnbuckle and stomps him in the corner. Karagias is sent off the ropes into an inverted atomic drop, Disco hits a running clothesline for 2.
Disco Inferno is distracted by Madusa existing at ringside, he hits suplexes on Evan Karagias in between dancing for Madusa. Evan Karagias lands on his feet from a suplex attempt and sends Disco into the ropes. Disco holds on and sends Karagias back. A kick to the gut and Disco sends him off the ropes, Karagias goes into a crucifix and rolls Disco up but he gets the rope break. Disco Inferno knocks Karagias down with a clothesline, he lifts him for a powerbomb but Karagias counters, rolling Disco up for a nearfall. Evan Karagias hits a running back elbow for a nearfall as we see Tony Marinaro's watch. Disco Inferno hits a Russian leg sweep and slams him in the ring. He hits an elbow drop from the middle rope, but Karagias kicks out at 2. Evan Karagias is sent off the ropes, Disco sends him over to the floor and he hits the apron on the way down. Madusa helps him to his feet as Disco Inferno moves out to the apron, he jumps off with an ax handle but Karagias cuts him off with a dropkick.
Evan Karagias sends Disco back into the ring and covers, but Disco kicks out at 2. Karagias chops Disco Inferno in the corner and sends him across the ring, but runs into a back elbow. Evan Kargias hits a powerslam and covers for 2. Evan Karagias' running splash hits knees, he sends Karagias off the ropes, Karagias lands behind him but gets planted with a DDT., Disco Inferno covers for 2 and Heenan mentions how focused he is in this match, at the exact time he decides to go see Madusa at ringside. Madusa slaps Disco, Evan Karagias jumps from the apron with a hit to Disco's back and kicks him in the gut. Tony Marianaro tries his luck with Madusa as Karagias takes it back to the ring. He hits a Lou Thesz press on Disco Inferno and goes to see Marianaro, grabbing him by the throat. Disco Inferno grabs a chair from ringside, running at them, he hits Marianaro! Evan Karagias hits a springboard crossbody, 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: EVAN KARAGIAS (NEW WCW Cruiserweight Champion)
This was a fun match, but the story was a bit too much. Karagias and Disco could have had a servicable 10 minute match, instead we get this rushed B-Movie shit.– As a match it's * but personally I'd rate it 2.5/10
