WRATH VS. MENG

Before the match Mean Gene Okurland is on the ramp. Hollywood Hogan's music plays and he's out for an interview with Eric Bischoff at his side. He says that he sacrificed his own family member because he wasn't New World Order quality and we get a replay of the attack on the previous week's Nitro. Then addresses his match with The Warrior later tonight, saying he'll beat him bad. Unfortunately for live fans, the broadcast would cut out after that match, because WCW didn't tell Pay-Per-View providers they were running long.

Tony Schiovane, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Mike Tenay are on commentary for this match. Meng enters first as Tony Schiovane calls this a hoss fight. He is followed by Wrath, who only gets as far as the apron before the match is jump-started.

WRATH VS. MENG

WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 (25th October 1998)

Meng knocks his opponent off the apron as he tries to enter the ring, but Wrath brings him out by the ankles. He strikes first with chops and a knee to the gut, then shows the Islander Head doesn't work against the ring steps or the guard rail. Wrath hits a cannonball on Meng from the apron and stomps him. Wrath brings it back into the ring but sends Meng's head into the padded turnbuckle, which has no effect. Wrath is sent across the ring but gets his boot up. Wrath clotheslines Meng, but he doesn't budge, but a flying clothesline from the middle rope knocks him down for a nearfall. Meng is sent into the corner and he is hit with a jumping shoulder block. Meng rolls out of the Meltdown attempt and kicks Wrath away. Meng kicks Wrath in the jaw and covers for 2. A chop and backbreaker get Meng another nearfall Wrath tries to fight back as they get to their feet, but an elbow to the back of the head puts a stop to that. Meng sends Wrath's head into the turnbuckle and bites at his ear. Overhand chops to the ears almost stun Wrath, but he puts Meng in the corner.

Wrath kicks at Meng, he gets some shots in with the knee before Meng jabs the throat and hits a back suplex and covers but Wrath kicks out at 2. Meng goes back to the elbow to the top of the head, he sends Wrath into the corner and squashes him with a clothesline. Meng sends Wrath across the ring but gets caught in a sunset flip, Meng stays on his feet but Wrath avoids the strike, Wrath hits a uranage for a 2 count. He struggles to get Meng up for the Meltdown, but hits it and covers 1, 2, 3!

WINNER: WRATH

Looking at the match, you can't expect a 5-star classic. But they worked their style of match well. They just ran into each other constantly until one guy couldn't get up again..– As a match, it's *¾ but personally, I'd rate it 4/10
