TYLER BREEZE VS. APOLLO CREWS

After a preview for Nia Jax Tyler Breeze makes his way out to the ring. He needs the win tonight because he thinks he's being looked over for opportunities. Apollo Crews made his NXT debut at TakeOver: Brooklyn. (here) Corey Graves, Rich Brennan and Byron Saxton are on commentary for this match.

TYLER BREEZE VS. APOLLO CREWS

NXT TakeOver: Respect (7th October 2015)

They lock up and Crews backs Breeze into the corner, breaking clean. Tyler Breeze works a headlock but is sent into the ropes and knocked down with a shoulder tackle. Breeze goes prone and leapfrogs but a dropkick sends him outside for a breather. Crews body-checks Breeze on the outside and sends him back into the ring, where Tyler cut him off. Apollo Cruise counters a suplex and holds Breeze in the air before dropping and getting a nearfall. Breeze gets a back elbow and sends Breeze into the corner, Crews doesn't float-over and holds on to the ropes to stop a roll up. Breeze fucks with his knee pad and gets a cheap shot on Crews from the floor. Breeze tries to roll Crews up but sends him out of the ring. They trade strikes on the walkway, Breeze counters a powerslam and sends Crews into the side if the ring. Tyler Breeze takes it back in the ring and gets a nearfall, before targetting the lower back. Breeze sends Crews into the corner and it knocks him down, Tyler Breeze covers but only gets a 2 count.

Tyler Breeze stretches Crews' back on the mat, but Crews fights to his feet. Tyler Breeze quickly cuts him off as the fans chant for both guys. A bow and arrow lungblower gets an insyant replay and a nearfall as Breeze starts to look frustrated. Tyler Breeze locks in a sharpsshooter, Crews struggles for a while before crawling to the ropes. Tyler holds on for 3 of the 5 count before releasing. Apollo Crews gets a jumping clothesline but his back is too gone to capitiaize. Tyler Breeze sends him into the corner and attacks the kidney with forearms and mounted punches. Crews interupts the punches, walking Breeze out of the corner but is caught with a hurricarana followed by more punches on the mat. Apollo Crews shakes off the attack enough to hit a jumping enziguri, giving us a double-down. Apollo Crews brings Breeze back through the ropes and get sent over the apron. Crews hits a shoulder block and rolls back in the ring but turns around into a Supermodel kick. Tyler Breeze covers for a close nearfall.

Tyler Breeze shoves Crews out of the ring, hitting him with a triangle dropkick as he got on the apron. Tyler Breeze goes back to the top rope and is caught in a powerslam, giving Crews a nearfall. He drops Breeze from a Gorilla Press but Breeze grabs Crews' ankle. Apollo Crews kicks Breeze off and hits the standing moonsault into knees. Tyler rolls him up with a small package for a nearfall.Tyler Breeze goes corner to corner with running forearms, but on his third trip he ran into Crews' boot and forward momentum, Apollo hits the powerbomb and covers for the win.

This was a good match, Crews looked sympathetic and got a win over a clear fan favourite in NXT, even though he's a heel. They both looked great in the match and came out of it better in my opinion. [***]7/10 match

After the match Hideo Itami and Sho Funaki are shown in the crowd. The former KENTA has history with Breeze.
